When there is a close link between the perpetrator and the victim, the phrase domestic violence is employed. They often have a difference in power. The criminal depends on the victim. Abuse that is physical, sexual, or psychological can be categorized as domestic violence. Women makeup the majority of victims. However, domestic abuse may also affect men, kids, and the elderly.

Domestic abuse affects all spheres of society and demographics.Abuse is frequently, but not always, intentional. For instance, sometimes people find it impossible to continue caring for their loved ones. Abuse may then follow as the situation worsens.

SELF EVALUATION

Public education campaigns aid in enlightening the public about particular topics. They can influence societal consciousness, put concerns to the forefront of discussion, and inspire individuals to take different activities. Public awareness campaigns on domestic violence seek to inform the public about the prevalence of abuse, motivate individuals to take positive action to effect social change, and inform survivors of their rights and available support systems. We support campaigns all year long, but Domestic Violence Awareness Month (DVAM) is the ideal time to plan and roll out a public education effort on the issue. Awareness campaigns might coincide with the DVAM operations of an organization, run the full year, or continue for several years. Small budget efforts that draw attention to a local hotline number can be as sophisticated as large budget, national campaigns urging a certain sector of the community to become active in domestic abuse prevention. In order to reach more people and have a bigger influence on public opinion, it may be beneficial to collaborate with other anti-violence campaigners, related movements, and community-based groups. Advocates might have access to resources that they might not otherwise be able to create or acquire on their own by joining a coalition to begin a campaign or by joining an existing coalition campaign.
