On May 21st, Dr Gangi Reddy, Consultant – Pulmonologist and Respiratory Specialist, with Columbia Asia Hospital took a live session on “Physical and Mental well-being during Covid times”. Both doctors explained in detail how to take care of one’s health pre and post covid and precautions that need to be taken and sensitized the audience to contact a healthcare professional and not believe everything circulating in social media. They also explained in very detail the symptoms, precautions, and recovery after a Covid-19 infection.

WICCI’s Organisational HR Council for Karnataka in collaboration with Columbia Asia Hospital, Sarjapur Road, and Sparsh Hospital, Yeshwantpur launched online sessions to educate on “Physical and mental well being during Covid times” on May 19th and 21st, 2021.

With the number of cases increased to an all-time high and the 2nd wave of COVID-19 ravaging through the country, WICCI leadership felt that it is essential to make people aware of the right practices to follow to avoid as well as post covid recovery. 

An increase in wrong information available on Social Media coupled with people being depressed if a loved one is affected necessitated an awareness session. 

To this end, WICCI collaborated with Sparsh Hospital, and Dr Kavya B N, a family medicine Consultant, took a live session on “Physical and Mental well-being during Covid times” on May 19th.

On May 21st, Dr Gangi Reddy, Consultant – Pulmonologist and Respiratory Specialist, with Columbia Asia Hospital took a live session on “Physical and Mental well-being during Covid times”. 

Both doctors explained in detail how to take care of one’s health pre and post covid and precautions that need to be taken and sensitized the audience to contact a healthcare professional and not believe everything circulating in social media. They also explained in very detail the symptoms, precautions, and recovery after a Covid-19 infection.

They walked the audience through how the mental health of patients, family, near and dear ones are affected. They also gave a very detailed explanation about building immunity and were extremely patient and answered all the questions posed by the audience as well.

The audience was very receptive and there was a very detailed Q & A session where all the queries from the audience on various aspects from precautions to post covid diet to the recent increase in black fungus cases were asked and answered. 

Ms Anchal Gandhi was the moderator for both events. The event was on Facebook Live and was live on Zoom.

Ms Richa Sareen Gupta, president of WICCI made the vote of thanks to the doctors, audience, WICCI leadership and asked everyone to stay safe and healthy and contact the nearest hospital in case of any queries.
