Senior Congress leader and ex-MLA Ms Alka Lamba accused the Aam Aadmi Party Government in Delhi of selectively distributing compensation to Covid Warriors, overlooking the claims of several families of doctors, nurses, police personnel and sanitation workers, who also succumbed to the virus while on Covid duty.

Addressing a press conference today, Ms Alka Lamba said that over 100 doctors, several nurses, and other frontline Corona Warriors had died  on duty, but the Arvind Government has been distributing compensation to a select few.

She said that it was highly demoralising for doctors and other frontline workers, who are doing selfless work to save lives and arrest the surge of the virus, risking their own lives, but CM Arvind was taking political mileage out of the sorrow of the people with selective distribution of compensation.

She said that it was a dangerous ploy as people started lowering their guard, with the consequences of more infected people remaining undetected, causing thousands of avoidable casualties. She said that tests conducted in Government hospitals were kept pending to help private labs  make a killing by holding more tests in less time.
