Covid19 is impacting the entire population, but persons with disabilities (PwDs)are more vulnerable to the disease due to their Physical, Sensory, and cognitive limitations. In the light of the ongoing Pandemic and increasing Cases of Covid 19 in Delhi, it has come to notice that the person with disabilities is facing problems to get Vaccination.

Eleven Dedicated Covid-19 vaccination centres for persons with disabilities (45+) have been set up in Delhi, initiated State Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities (PwD), by following demands for accessible vaccination on a priority basis by disability activists in the city.

This follows an order issued by the office of the Divisional Commissioner Revenue, after a notice issued by the State Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities (PwD), Mr Ranjan Mukherjee.

These Eleven Centres are

  4. North-East: Govt Boys Sr. Secondary School, Shastri Park, Seelampur-

  5. West: O/o District West, Deptt of Social Welfare, TCPC Sant Pura, Tilak Nagar
  6. South-West: Govt (CO-ED) SSS, Dwarka, Sec-II –

  7. South: SKV Chattarpur near Chattarpur Mandir (

  8. South East: School of Excellence, Site-2, Kalkaji –

As per Section 25(1)(c) of the Rights of Person with Disabilities Act, 2016, also mandates, Priority in attendance and treatment.

The State Commissioner for Person with Disabilities, Govt. of NCT of Delhi is mandated to inquire suo motu or otherwise deprivation of the rights of persons with disabilities and safeguard available to them and to monitor implementation of the provisions of the Act and take up with the appropriate authorities for corrective action u/s 80(b) Act.
