Road named in memory of Late Kamlesh Thakur becomes a lasting symbol of dignity, sacrifice and the values of motherhood

In a heartfelt ceremony celebrating the spirit of motherhood and the enduring legacy of selfless service, Member of Parliament Manoj Tiwari on Sunday inaugurated “Late Smt. Kamlesh Thakur Marg” at A-Block, Mansarovar Park in East Delhi. More than a civic event, the road naming ceremony emerged as an emotional tribute to a woman remembered for her compassion, values and unwavering commitment to family and society.
Addressing the gathering, MP Manoj Tiwari described mothers as the foundation of society and the first architects of a nation’s character. He said that dedicating a public road in the name of Late Smt. Kamlesh Thakur would ensure that future generations continue to draw inspiration from her life of love, sacrifice, service and moral values.

He remarked that societies progress when they honour individuals whose lives leave a lasting impact on people around them. According to him, preserving such memories through public recognition strengthens India’s cultural ethos and reinforces respect for motherhood.
The ceremony witnessed the presence of MLA Jitender Mahajan, Councillor Chandra Prakash Sharma, Councillor Kumari Shivani Panchal, former MLA Vipin Sharma, along with several public representatives, social workers and members of prominent community organisations.
Representatives from Teerth Yatri Mitra Mandal, Dadhichi Dehdaan Samiti, My Association, Akhil Bharatiya Kshatriya Mahasabha, Shahdara Bar Association, Seva Ek Anokha Parivar and several resident welfare organisations also attended the programme, reflecting broad community participation in honouring the late social figure.
Speakers paid glowing tributes to Late Smt. Kamlesh Thakur, describing her as a woman whose simplicity, compassion and commitment to human values touched countless lives. They noted that true greatness lies not in public office or recognition, but in inspiring others through kindness, generosity and service.
