Serious allegations have surfaced against the private security agency deployed at Dr. Baba Saheb Ambedkar Hospital in Rohini, Delhi. Patients, attendants, and journalists have accused security personnel of misbehaving with visitors, using force, and allegedly assaulting media personnel inside the hospital premises. A video purportedly showing an altercation involving journalists has reportedly gone viral on social media, drawing public attention to the issue.
According to the complainants, patients and their family members are routinely subjected to rude behaviour, intimidation, and harassment by security guards. Some have further alleged that money is illegally demanded for facilitating OPD registration, medical investigations, and other hospital-related services. These allegations have not been independently verified, but they have triggered protests by journalists and members of civil society.
Complainants have also raised questions over the functioning of the LOC Security Agency, which is reportedly responsible for security arrangements at the hospital. They allege irregularities in the agency’s operations and claim that repeated complaints have failed to result in effective administrative action. Some have also alleged that there is official negligence or complicity, though no evidence has been presented publicly to substantiate these claims.
Patients and attendants say that despite being a government hospital, they often face unnecessary hardship. They allege that some security personnel behave aggressively, making it difficult for patients and visitors to seek assistance or access hospital services without fear of intimidation.
Hospital visitor Ghanshyam has appealed to Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta and Health Minister Pankaj Singh to take immediate cognizance of the matter and order an impartial inquiry. He stated that if such incidents involving journalists, lawyers, social activists, and ordinary citizens continue, they could eventually lead to a serious law-and-order situation.
Local residents and social organizations have demanded a high-level investigation into the functioning of the private security agency, including allegations of misconduct, illegal extortion, and the hospital’s security contract. They have urged the Delhi Government to take strict administrative action against anyone found guilty to ensure that patients and their attendants receive safe, dignified, and harassment-free healthcare services.
Editor’s Note: The allegations mentioned in this report are based on claims made by complainants and eyewitnesses. They have not been independently verified. The response of the hospital administration and the security agency was not available at the time of publication. Their version will be carried prominently once received.
