Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee president Ch. Anil Kumar said that the fact that the Rouse Avenue trial court has extended the CBI custody of No 1 accused in the liquor scam, Manish Sisodia, till Monday (March 6), was clear proof that there was strong evidence against him  and CBI wants more time to ferret out further information from him. He said that by denying Sisodia bail for the third time, the court wants to ensure that the CBI probe is not hampered in any manner, for, if Sisodia is granted bail, there was the possibility of him tampering with evidence, which will prevent an impartial probe into the liquor scam, till the CBI apprehends the mastermind behind the deal, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.

Ch. Anil Kumar said that Sisodia was responsible for the controversial and corrupt liquor policy implementation at the behest of architect of the scam, Arvind Kejriwal, and that was the reason Kejriwal decided to go to Karnataka when the bail application of his deputy once came up for hearing today. He said that Kejriwal is such an irresponsible and incompetent Chief Minister that he has not held any Ministerial portfolio since 2013, as he was enjoying power without responsibility. He said that the liquor scam probe would be impartial only when Kejriwal was also put behind bars.

Ch. Anil Kumar said that Delhi Congress’ stand in the liquor scam has been vindicated as all the people named by the Delhi Congress in its complaints to the Lt. Governor and CBI, who were involved in the liquor scam, have been put behind bars, except Kejriwal, who was still roaming free as if nothing has happened, though two of his key Ministers—Satyender Jain and Manish Sisodia–were put behind bars for corruption, which could not have happened without Kejriwal’s knowledge and involvement, as he has made Delhi the “Capital of Scams”.

Ch. Anil Kumar said that it was shocking that parents of Government school students were being forced to write letters in support of Sisodia, lest their wards would be failed, and therefore the trial court has taken the right decision to deny him bail. He said that if Sisodia was given bail at this stage, he would use his power and money to threaten and coerce parents to speak up for him in a stage-managed  campaign in his favour.
