Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee president Ch. Anil Kumar said that Delhi Chief Minister Arvind’s fake scheme of providing “free” water to the people was exposed yet again when a woman was murdered at the Vasant Kunj JJ Clusters on account of water clashes. He said that it was very shocking that people have been forced into fights due to water crisis as clashes on account of water crisis have become a common occurrence in JJ Clusters and unauthorized colonies where people bear the brunt of water shortage. He said that CM Arvind  had promised to give 20,000 litres of free water to people every day, but the truth is that in certain areas, people do not get even a drop of water through DJB pipelines, and they are forced to depend on the tanker mafia, being controlled  by the Aam Aadmi Party leaders and MLAs.

Ch. Anil Kumar said that the Arvind Government has totally failed to provide basic facilities to the people, as the free water scheme has fallen flat as CM Arvind fooled the people with a fake promise. He said that the poor people have to purchase drinking water as the DJB supplies no water. Ch. Anil Kumar said that CM Arvind has lost interest in Delhi, as all his focus has  now been shifted to Punjab, to fleece the people there with false promises. He said that when  Congress was in power in Delhi, every colony, including the JJ Clusters and unauthorized colonies, used to get uninterrupted water supply. He said that according to figures sourced from the Government, people used to get 50 gallons of water per day in 2015 which was reduced to 45 gallons by 2021. He said that in eight years of governance, the AAP Government indulged in so much corruption that the DJB, which was making profits during the Congress regime, went into losses of hundreds of crores. He said that none of the “free” schemes promised by Arvind in his manifesto has been fulfilled  as he had no intention to fulfill these fake promises in the first place.
