A virtual meeting of senior Congress leaders of Delhi, under the leadership of Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee president Ch. Anil Kumar, was held today in which it was decided to hold protests at all the petrol pumps across Delhi for the unchecked hike in the prices of petrol and diesel, on June 11, 2021 (Friday) in which senior leaders of the party, including CWC members, AICC office-bearers, MPs, ex-MLAs and Congress workers will participate.
At the outset of the meeting, a resolution was unanimously passed to thank Congress president Smt. Sonia Gandhi and Shri Rahul Gandhi for their relentless efforts to get free universal vaccination to all, which has been finally accepted by the Modi Government. Shri Rahul Gandhi had maintained all through that universal vaccination was the only remedy to save lives and stop the spread of the deadly Covid-19 virus in the country.
Today’s virtual meeting among senior leaders under Ch. Anil Kumar’s leadership was held to finalize plans to hold the protest demonstration on June 11, 2021. Ch. Anil Kumar said that when people were battling with the Covid-19 pandemic, and thousands of people succumbed to the deadly virus, the Modi Government, taking advantage of the helplessness of the people, quietly allowed the prices of petrol and diesel to soar.
The meeting was attended by AICC in-charge of Delhi Shri Shakti Sinh Gohil and secretary Shri Imran Masood. Prominent among those who participated in the meeting were former DPCC presidents Shri Subhash Chopra and Shri Ajay Maken, ex-MPs Shri Ramesh Kumar, Smt. Krishna Tirath and Shri Udit Raj, and former Delhi Ministers, ex-MLAs, AICC secretary and district presidents who gave their valuable suggestions.
