Synopsis:
Ch. Anil Kumar said that on the occasion of “Prakash Purab” of the 10th Sikh Guru, he requests every family in Delhi to ‘gift’ one child to the extended Congress family, as the demand is not to enlarge the Congress party’s political footfall, but to equip them to be responsible citizens, to the larger cause and concerns of the society. He noted that these are times when those in power try to divide people on communal and casteist lines and try to suppress and destroy the hands that feed the country and stifle the voices that question the authoritarian and undemocratic actions of those in power.

Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee president Ch. Anil Kumar, wishing the people of Delhi, particularly those from the Sikh community, on the 354th birth anniversary of Sikh guru, Guru Gobind Singh, who founded the Khalsa Panth, said that in these polarizing times, it’s time to draw lessons from Guru Govind Singh’s life and teachings, to create a just society steeped in the ethics of service and sacrifice to society, to uphold the cherished values of life.

Ch. Anil Kumar said that most of the cherished values of the country are being sacrificed at the altar of one man’s ego, and one political ideology, which portends a dangerous future for the young generation of Indians. He asserted that his request to ‘gift’ one young member from every family to the Congress is to groom them as caring citizens, working for peace, progress and prosperity, and to create a society which is devoid of communal and casteist antagonism, toward any particular religion, community/caste, and working for the overall good of the society at large. He said that only a heartless society and ruling dispensation can watch without concern the protest being waged by the farmers of the country on the borders of Delhi, against the three anti-farmer Agricultural Laws passed by the Modi Government at the Centre, which will be a total sell-out of the farm sector to a few chosen Corporates by the Modi Government, who will then, henceforth, dictate to the farmers what to cultivate, whom to sell and at what price
