Synopsis:
Ch. Anil Kumar said that the arrest of BJP Councillor from Vasant Kunj Manoj Mehwalat, for demanding a bribe of Rs 10 lakh from a person in regard to construction work,  has exposed the deep-rooted corruption in the BJP-ruled Municipal Corporations of Delhi, as the sole job of the BJP and Aam Aadmi Party Councillors seem to be to fleece and harass people, who have elected them to power, instead of working for their welfare.

Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee president Ch. Anil Kumar has appealed to the Arvind Government in Delhi to provide at least basic civic amenities like sanitation, mobile bio-toilets, Covid testing centres, health facilities, water and food to the thousands of farmers who have assembled at the Delhi borders from across the country, demanding the repeal of the three anti-farmer Bills passed by the Modi Government at the Centre. He said that the Bills are a total sell-out of the farm sector to the Corporate lobby in the country, who will henceforth dictate the terms to the farmers, including pricing. He said it was due to the hard work and struggle of the farmers, who beg and borrow to grow crops, vegetables and fruits, that the country has been kept fed, even during the Covid-19 pandemic, but the Modi and Arvind Governments were trying to throttle the farmers through coercive methods.

Ch. Anil Kumar, in a letter to Chief Minister Arvind today, has drawn his attention to the plight of the farmers, who include women and the aged, camping under open skies in this bone-chilling cold, with a determined protest to seek justice for their demands. He said that the Delhi Government has been making tall claims without doing anything at the ground level to alleviate the suffering of the farmers, who have been bearing with all kinds of discomforts with a one-point agenda of making the Modi Government see reason, and roll back the anti-farmer Bills. He said that the Arvind Government was putting up a deceitful front before the farmers, as on the one hand, it has issued a notification to implement one of the three controversial Bills, and on the other hand, it was creating an impression of supporting the farmers.

Ch. Anil Kumar asked CM Arvind to instruct the concerned departments of his Government to provide all the necessary civic facilities to the protesting farmers, till their demands are met.
