Synopsis:
Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee President, Ch. Anil Kumar said that the Arvind Government in Delhi, instead of extending its full support to the farmers’ cause, was playing a devious double-role, as on the one hand, it was shedding some crocodile tears for the farmers, and on the other hand, the Aam Aadmi Party Government quietly notified one of the three farm laws it opposes on 23 November 2020—the Farmers’ Produce Trade and Commerce (Promotion and Facilitation) Ordinance 2020.

Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee President Ch. Anil Kumar today visited the Delhi-Haryana border at Bahadurgarh and Tikri, where thousands of farmers are protesting against the three anti-farmer black Bills passed by the Modi Government at the Centre, in an autocratic manner without having any discussions on the repercussions of the Bills on the farm sector when they are enforced, either in Parliament or outside, with the concerned people. He pledged the full support of the Congress party to the farmers’ protest and assured them that Congress will stand by the farmers till the black Bills are rolled back by the Modi Government.

Ch. Anil Kumar distributed butter milk (chachh) and sweet yoghurt (lassi) to the agitating farmers, who are determined to persist with their protests, till the three black Bills are withdrawn. The farmers shouted slogans like “Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan”, “Kisan Ekta Zindabad, Mazdoor Ekta Zindabad” and “Modi Sarkar murdabad” etc.

Ch. Anil Kumar felt motivated by the firm resolve of the farmers to continue their protests, whatever may be the situation and how harsh the conditions would be, till their demands are met. The farmers asserted that they would not settle for nothing less than the rollback of all the three anti-farmer Bills, which in the present format will allow big corporates to take over the farm sector and dictate the pricing, which would serve their vested interest. The farmers informed Ch. Anil Kumar that new batches of farmers are joining the protesters daily, not only from Punjab and Haryana but also from all over the country as the farmers across the country are agitated by the black Bills.

Ch. Anil Kumar said that he was amazed by the determination of the farmers, who include men and women, young and old, and even grand old people over 80 and 90 years old.

Ch.
