The third meeting of the Hindi Advisory Committee of the Ministry of Ayush was held at Kartavya Bhawan-I, New Delhi, under the chairmanship of Shri Prataprao Jadhav, Minister of State (Independent Charge), Ministry of Ayush and Minister of State, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

The meeting was attended by Hon’ble Members of Parliament Shri Rahul Singh Lodhi and Shri Gyaneshwar Patil, along with Vaidya Rajesh Kotecha, Secretary, Ministry of Ayush, members of the Committee and senior officials of the Ministry and its subordinate institutions.

Addressing the meeting, Union Minister Shri Prataprao Jadhav said that the Hindi Advisory Committee is not merely a formal body but an important platform for strengthening the use and promotion of Hindi in the Ministry and making it an effective medium for public welfare and communication.

Shri Prataprao Jadhav said that the country is moving forward with the vision of ‘Viksit Bharat @2047’. Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has laid special emphasis on the preservation, promotion and wider use of Indian languages. Shri Jadhav noted that the Prime Minister’s consistent use of Hindi at national and international forums has enhanced the recognition and respect for Hindi globally.

Shri Jadhav said that he makes efforts to ensure that maximum official work in his office is undertaken in Hindi. He urged officers and employees not to view the use of Hindi merely as a formal or constitutional obligation, but to make it an effective instrument of good governance, transparency and public outreach and an integral part of their day-to-day work.

Highlighting the importance of Indian languages in the Ayush sector, Shri Jadhav said that Ayush represents India’s rich and ancient knowledge tradition. Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha, Sowa-Rigpa and Homoeopathy are gaining increasing popularity not only in India but also across the world.

Vaidya Rajesh Kotecha, Secretary, Ministry of Ayush, highlighted the efforts being made by the Ministry to promote the use of Hindi in official work, correspondence, publications, website, social media and public relations activities. He also informed the Committee about initiatives to encourage officers and employees to use Hindi through training programmes, workshops and incentive schemes.

The Committee discussed the need to make Ayush-related knowledge, research, scientific literature, public welfare schemes and achievements of the Ministry widely available in Hindi and other Indian languages. The members also deliberated on making Ayush-related information more accessible through Indian languages and further strengthening its outreach among the general public.

The Ministry’s Hindi house journal ‘Apratim Ayush’ was also released during the meeting. Smt. Purnima Bose, Deputy Director, Department of Official Language, Ministry of Ayush, welcomed the participants, while Dr. Prakash Kumar, Assistant Director, Ministry of Ayush, conducted the proceedings.

The meeting was also attended by non-official members Markandey Rai, Thinles Dorje, Sunil Mehru, Ramya Krishna Kanaparthi and Hemchandra Vaidya.
