Judicial Council has formally addressed an urgent communication to President of the United Nations Security Council, demanding immediate and decisive action to stop the ongoing and rapidly escalating war involving Israel- United States, and Iran.

In its latest letter, Judicial Council has strongly urged UN Security Council to convene an emergency session and pass a binding resolution for an immediate ceasefire, warning that continued inaction could lead to catastrophic global consequences.

This communication follows the Council’s letter sent previously, in which it had already urged for urgent intervention. However, with the situation deteriorating further, Judicial Council has reiterated its grave concern and emphasized that the time for deliberation has passed—what is now required is immediate and enforceable action.

The current conflict has intensified dramatically over recent weeks, with large-scale military operations, retaliatory missile strikes, and widespread destruction reported across multiple regions. Initial coordinated strikes by the United States and Israel on Iran earlier this year triggered massive retaliation, resulting in significant loss of life, damage to infrastructure, and large-scale displacement of civilians.

Rajiv Agnihotri Chairman Judicial Council Said “Recent developments indicate a dangerous escalation, including expanded military engagements, threats to critical infrastructure, and increasing regional instability. The risk of a broader international conflict is no longer hypothetical but imminent, with global economic systems, energy markets, and international security under severe strain”

Judicial Council has expressed deep concern over the humanitarian crisis unfolding as a result of the conflict. Civilian populations continue to bear the brunt of the violence, with mounting casualties and destruction of infrastructure raising serious questions under international humanitarian law.

In its letter, Judicial Council has clearly stated that failure to act immediately will result in consequences far beyond the region. The Council warned that prolonged conflict could destabilize global peace, disrupt international trade, and push already fragile economies into severe crisis.

Chairman Judicial Council has called upon the United Nations Security Council to:

Convene an urgent emergency session without delay

Pass a binding and enforceable ceasefire resolution

Initiate direct diplomatic negotiations among the concerned nations

Ensure protection of civilians and humanitarian access

Judicial Council emphasized that the United Nations Security Council carries a historic responsibility to prevent the escalation of conflicts that threaten global peace and security. It stated that silence or delayed action at this critical juncture would amount to a failure of international responsibility.

“The world stands at the edge of a dangerous precipice. If immediate and decisive steps are not taken, the consequences will not be confined to one region the entire world will suffer,” Rajiv Agnihotri Chairman Judicial Council stated.

Judicial Council reaffirmed its commitment to justice, peace, and the rule of law, and urged all global institutions to rise above political considerations to safeguard humanity
