New Delhi: As 2025 came to a close and 2026 dawned, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta extended her heartfelt New Year greetings to the people of the capital while highlighting the government’s accomplishments over the past year. She emphasized that 2025 was a year of new responsibilities, challenges, and significant opportunities, and assured that many long-pending issues in Delhi will be addressed in 2026.


According to CM Gupta, 2025 was primarily a year of preparation, laying the foundation for delivering projects and solutions in 2026. She stressed that the government remains committed to improving citizens’ quality of life through timely and efficient governance.

Implementation of a new aggregation bill, eliminating hefty parcel fees for citizens.
Provision of free treatment up to ₹10 lakh under the Ayushman scheme.
Atal Canteen initiative, offering hygienic meals at just ₹5.
Launch of end-to-end road carpeting projects to enhance road quality and cleanliness.
Strict enforcement against open-air burning, protecting the environment.
Delhi’s first biogas plant operational, with multiple more under construction.
Initiation of E-waste management plants to tackle electronic waste efficiently.


CM Gupta emphasized that these accomplishments are just the beginning, with much more work ahead. She encouraged citizens to actively participate in Delhi’s progress and support government initiatives for a cleaner, greener, and better-functioning city.
