Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee (DPCC) president Shri Devender Yadav today convened a crucial meeting of the 5-member Coordination Committee, 12 Observers and District Presidents of the wards at the DPCC office, Rajiv Bhawan, in connection with the preparations for the upcoming by-elections to the 12 wards of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi. He said that the Congress party was fully prepared to face the by elections even if the Delhi State Election Commission holds them early.

Besides Shri Deveder Yadav, prominent among those who attended the meeting were former Delhi Minister Dr Narender Nath, Ex MLAs Sh Hari Shankar Gupta, Shri Surender Kumar, Rajesh Garg, DCC Presidents Shri Sidharth Rao, Shri Rajesh Chauhan, Javed Mirza, Satbir Sharma, Adv. Dinesh Kumar, Virender Kasana, Shri Mudit Agarwal, Ragini Nayak, Municipal Councillor Haji Zarif, Pradesh Mahila President Pushpa Singh, Neetu Verma and Vinit Yadav.

At the crucial meeting held today, Shri Devender Yadav clearly stated that if BJP’s vote theft is curbed in the MCD byelections , then he was confident that the Congress party will emerge victorious in all the 12 wards. “We are unitedly fighting against the BJP’s vote theft to rob people’s Constitutional right, which was exposed by Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha Shri Rahul Gandhi, and which Congress workers have been powerfully raising before the people of Delhi through a massive signature campaign and awareness sessions”, he added. He said that over the last 8 months, BJP’s Rekha Gupta government has not fulfilled a single promise made to the people of Delhi and the Aam Aadmi Party is getting extinct in Delhi after its corrupt and incompetent model was rejected by the people of the Capital. He said that the people of Delhi are now looking at Congress as the only choice for good and development-driven governance before them.
Shri Devender Yadav said that for the last 6 months, the BJP-ruled MCD has proved to be a complete failure in fulfilling the responsibility of ensuring cleanliness in Delhi. He said that the BJP had promised to banish the garbage mountains, but did nothing to get rid of them. He said that heaps of garbage have piled up on every corner, along the roads, streets, colonies and everywhere because of which Delhi faced constant waterlogging during the monsoon. He said that despite the BJP grabbing power in the Delhi government and the corporation, there has been no improvement, only empty promises and claims. He said that the people of Delhi will give a befitting reply to the BJP’s game of lies and falsehood in the by-elections to 12 seats.
Shri Devender Yadav said that for the by-elections of 12 MCD wards, Delhi had constituted an observer and a 5-member coordination committee for each ward in April itself. He said that all the observers were working actively in their respective wards and were also checking the pulse of the voters by interacting with them at the grassroots level. He said that there was pent up anger among the people against the BJP’s vote theft and they are also expressing their displeasure over the BJP’s wrongful gain of power by giving overwhelming support to Congress’ signature campaign against BJP’s vote chori.
Shri Devendra Yadav said that Delhi Congress has completed all the necessary exercise to strengthen the party under the Sangathan Sirjan Abhiyan, as the party has appointed 14 District Congress Committee presidents, 258 Block Congress Committee presidents and about 520 mandalams under the block and one sector in-charge at 5-6 polling booths within each mandalam. He said that the party was working with full strength and determination to once again become a powerful force in the Capital. He said that workers were going to every street and locality of Delhi to make people aware of the vote theft conspiracy by the BJP, to make them aware of the value of their votes, and how the BJP was trying to subvert the people’s verdict..
Shri Devender Yadav said Delhi Congress was putting its best foot forward to capture all the 12 MCD seats in the upcoming bye-elections as the party workers were fully charged up for the battle, as this would be the first major challenge after Shri Rahul Gandhi had exposed BJP’s vote theft before the people, to make them aware of how the BJP was stealing votes to win elections.
