Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee president Ch.Anil Kumar said that despite spending thousands of crores by the Aam Aaadmi Party Government in the name of cleaning the toxic Yamuna river in the past nine years, the water of the river has only turned more toxic, which is unpotable even after water treatments due to high levels of ammonia and toxic elements.

Ch. Anil Kumar said that in the past five years, the Kejriwal Government  spent Rs 6800 crore for Yamuna water cleaning while the Delhi Jal Board spent Rs 71,000 crore for the same purpose, and still the water in the river remains highly pollutant, having an unbearable stench. He asked where all this money was spent and how, and this should be probed, as despite crores being squandered for Yamuna cleaning, the Kejriwal Government could not establish 6 amonia treatment plants and 22 sewage treatment plants in the past 8 years, which should be probed to bring out the truth, as it seems to have become another fit case of the AAP Government’s high levels of corruption in every project it undertakes.

Ch. Anil Kumar said that the Rouse Avenue court rejecting the bail application of former Deputy Chief Minister and Excise Minister Manish Sisodia in the Liquor Scam case filed by the CBI once again establishes his involvement in the liquor scam, despite the AAP Government making vain attempts to make him a political scapegoat. He said that Delhi Congress has been insisting from Day One following the implementation of the controversial liquor policy that there was huge corruption behind the sell out of Delhi’s retail liquor trade to a liquor carter by bending all the rules and regulations for a price, which has now been validated without any ambiguity by the court with the rejection of his bail application yet again.
