Congress candidate for the Rajendra Nagar Assembly by-election Smt. Prem Lata said that with the Aam Aadmi Party candidate facing imminent defeat, he  and his leader Arvind Kejriwal were resorting to lies and falsehood,  using money power and misusing official machinery, to influence and mislead the voters. She said that she has filed a complaint with the Election Commission against the AAP candidate for the blatant misuse of money power, illegal and unethical actions.

Smt. Prem Lata said that Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal was making a futile bid to justify his corrupt Minister Satyender Jain, who is in jail and has been denied bail by the court in a money laundering case and seizing unaccounted cash and gold coins from his residence as well as that of his aides, but he continues as a Minister which shows the duplicity of Kejriwal. She said that Kejriwal has been shielding the corrupt, as Jain was the fund collector for him. She said that the AAP candidate was openly violating the election code of conduct as Kejriwal has put the official machinery for the election campaign of the AAP candidate. She said that money was being squandered like water, though people are thirsting for potable drinking water in the Rajendra Nagar area, even though former AAP MLA  was the Vice-Chairman of the Delhi Jal Board.

Smt. Prem Lata said that local voters were coming out in large numbers  in support of the Congress as they know that both BJP and AAP make only empty rhetorics, and do not fulfill their promises, while Congress delivers what it promises, which was clearly evident from the 15-year rule of the Congress in Delhi, to make the Capital a world class city with all-round development. Smt. Prem Lata continued her door-to-door meetings with the voters as she interacted with people in the C Block of  Naraina Village and held corner meeting at Swadeshi Lal Chowk. Congress workers also held a street play exposing the corruption, inaction and incompetence of both the BJP and AAP.

Smt. Prem Lata said that the Aam Aadmi Party was giving money to the vegetable vendors, tea sellers and small shopkeepers to distribute goods free to the voters to influence them, but the locals  were not falling into the AAP trap. She said that the voters were fed  up with the neglect of the area by both AAP and BJP for the past many years. She said that she has complained to the Election Commission about the unfair tactics of the AAP to influence the votes with various inducements.

Smt. Prem Lata said that the thin attendance at Kejriwal’s road show was proof enough that the voters of Rajendra Nagar were not impressed with his sudden appearance in the area after totally ignoring the area in development, and they have made up their minds not to vote for the AAP candidate, as it was a fight between the local and outside candidates.

Smt. Prem Lata said that people no more believe in the promises of the Kejriwal Government as he could not fulfill even a single promise in the 10-point Guarantee Card he had released during the last Delhi Assembly elections. She said that water shortage, piled up garbage and broken roads and water-logging were some of the severe problems affecting the area, and she would focus on these areas if given a chance.
