Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee president Ch. Anil Kumar said that both the BJP and the Aam Aadmi Party Governments were playing the politics of revenge and retribution by misusing the police, which was evident earlier when the Punjab Police knocked at the doors of   Congress leader Ms. Alka Lamba in Delhi and poet Dr Kumar Vishwas in Ghaziabad, while the BJP-ruled Assam Government arrested Gujarat MLA and Dalit leader Shri Jignesh Mevani, for making political observations.

Ch. Anil Kumar said that the arrest of BJP goon Tejinder Pal Bagga by the Punjab Police in Delhi was yet another instance of the “Police Raj” being perpetuated by the intolerant BJP AAP Governments, though Delhi Congress will not support hate mongers and those who incite communal passions like Monga.

Ch. Anil Kumar said that it was shocking that the AAP Government in Punjab, at the instance of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind, was doing vendetta politics without addressing the pressing issues of the State, while the Delhi BJP president was  putting pressure on the Delhi Police to bail out Bagga, who has a tarnished reputation. He said that action should be taken against those who tries to create social unrest and threatens a Chief Minister, but it should not be to settle political scores, as the BJP and the AAP Governments are doing precisely that.

Ch. Anil Kumar said that Delhi Chief Minister Arvind, who promised freebies and made all sorts of hollow promises to the people of Punjab, now faces the hard reality that he would not be able to fulfil any of these promises, and instead, to divert the people’s attention, he is playing the victim card to harass and file FIRs against those who are critical of his misrule, not only in Delhi, but also his meddling in the affairs of Punjab, as an extra-Constitutional authority.
