Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee President Ch Anil Kumar said that despite the Delhi budget swelling from Rs 31,000 crore in 2015 to Rs 76,000 crore in 2022, presented by Finance Minister Manish Sisodia in the Assembly yesterday, neither the Capital’s infrastructure could be improved, nor any improvement could be made in the lives of the people, but Chief Minister Arvind continues  to self-congratulate for this “miracle”. He said that the “Rozgar Budget” has promised to create 20 lakh new jobs in five years  though CM Arvind’s assurance of creating 8 lakh jobs eight years ago has not yet been fulfilled.

Addressing a Rohini District Congress Committee convention at Alipur, opposite Swami Shraddhanand College, today, Ch. Anil Kumar said that Chief Minister Arvind made an atrocious claim that his Government had already “ensured 12 lakh jobs for the city’s youth, out of this 1.8 lakh jobs were created in the Government sector”.

Ch. Anil Kumar said that this was a blatant lie as according to RTI information, only 400 odd jobs were created in the past 8 years, while 22,000 guest teachers and over one lakh contractual workers in various Delhi Government departments still wait for regularisation of their jobs. He said that over 20,000 Anganwadi workers and helpers have been agitating for the past many months demanding pay hike and stipulated minimum wages, but the Arvind Government has only harassed and tormented them without conceding their demands.

Besides Ch. Anil Kumar, prominent others who participated in the District Convention to expand the part’s Digital Membership Campaign were Ex MP Dr. Udit Raj,  Ex MLA Charan Singh Candera, District President Vishal Mann, MC Rajendra Bagri, Dr. Naresh Kumar, DPMC President Amrita Dhawan, Ex MC Aruna Devi, Devender Kumar Kaku, Shambhu Sharma, Pradeep Pandey, Charanjeet Rai, Raju Yadav, Sushant Mishra, Manju Kumar.

Ch. Anil Kumar said that despite Arvind’s boast of Delhi creating surplus budget every year, he shied away from purchasing Covid-19 vaccines on payment which not only inordinately delayed the vaccination drive, but also in bringing the pandemic under control, after CM Arvind’s incompetence and inefficiency had resulted in thousands of Covid fatalities due to Oxygen shortage, shortage of medicines and hospital beds.

Ch. Anil Kumar said that the cleaning up of the Capital’s toxic air and polluted Yamuna river have been “works in progress” for the past seven years, and now Arvind has extended the deadline till the next Assembly elections, proving that the budget proposals mostly remain on paper, without being translated i
