Keeping in line with the organizational Motto of empowering women, WICCI Karnataka is organizing a session on POSH Act. #MeToo is a famous campaign which shook everyone and we all know the reasons. WICCI leadership felt the need to educate women in workplaces on how to identify harassment which comes in many forms right from subtle words to explicit demands.

The speaker for this event is Dr Promila Kanwar. Dr Promila is a Specialist in Gender at the State Resource Centre for Women, Women and Child Development Department, Government of Haryana. With more than 7 years of experience in Research work, Dr Promila has worked as a Research officer cum Training Manager in projects for the upliftment of the underprivileged section of society. Done Ph. D on Women Empowerment. She is engaged with many NGOs to work for needy people.

The key takeaways from this session will be the understanding of the law in India on the Prevention of Sexual Harassment at Workplace. The aim is also to understand the Policy for Prevention of Sexual Harassment at Workplace.

Another major point which will be dwelled on is the Importance and Constitution of the Internal Complaints Committee in every organization as well as understanding the rights of both sides.

WICCI is at the forefront of helping women recognize and also take cognizance and act on anything which makes them feel uncomfortable and not at ease at the workplace with anyone they are working with.
