Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee President Ch. Anil Kumar said that even serious Covid patients were forced to take home isolation as the Arvind Government has woefully failed to ensure Medicare for the suffering with the over-crowded and ill-equipped Delhi Government hospitals unable to cater to even the seriously ill. He said that due to shortage of beds in Delhi Government hospitals, the poor were dying in thousands and these Covid deaths are conveniently omitted from official data as they were not happening in hospitals.

Ch. Anil Kumar appealed to Chief Minister Arvind to immediately setup an Oxygen Bank by collecting empty oxygen cylinders from the public and from other sources so that they could be filled and rushed for the use of the needy. He said that thousands of people were losing their battle against Covid infection every day with the Arvind Government failing arrest the surging death count. He said that according Delhi Government data over 50,000 people are in home isolation though sources admit that the number of patients in home isolation is far higher. He said that while rich patients can afford to pay inflated hospital bills, aided and abetted by the Arvind Government, the poor and the marginalized have been left to the mercy of the people.
Ch. Anil Kumar said that the Delhi High Court has called the Arvind Government’s bluff on the much-touted Mohalla Clinics with the observation that what is the use of these Clinics if they could not be put use at a critical time like this.
Ch.Anil Kumar said that thousands of patients under home care were going through miserable times as they were neither getting medical help nor proper food, and appealed to the Arvind Government to immediately prepare a plan for their medical care and supply of nutrious food.
