Lawyers of the Saket Bar Association, along with AAP and BSP leaders, join Delhi Congress in the presence of DPCC president Ch. Anil Kumar. Young people, disillusioned with the false dreams and promises sold by Prime Minister Modi and Chief Minister Arvind, join Congress party in droves, as they see a bright future for the country only under the leadership of Shri Rahul Gandhi. Delhi cannot afford another full lockdown, instead the RT-PCR tests should be ramped up, containment zones earmarked, infrastructure in hospitals strengthened and the poor provided free ration and meals, besides cash relief for them to tide over the present Covid crisis—Ch. Anil Kumar.
Many lawyers, who are office-bearers of the Saket Bar Association, along with Aam Aadmi Party and BSP leaders, today joined the Delhi Congress in the presence of Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee president Ch. Anil Kumar at the DPCC office, Rajiv Bhawan, here today. Ch. Anil Kumar offered them the Congress scarfs to welcome them into the Congress fold. DPCC vice-president Shri Ali Mehndi and Shri Sunil Kumar, chairman of the Legal and Human Resources Department of the DPCC, were also present
Prominent among those who joined the Congress were: Shri Shabbir Ali Advocate, Shri Lakshay Bhardwaj, Mateen Chaudhary Advocate, Shri Amit Rajput, Shri Shadab Khan and Shri Asit Choudhary.
Ch. Anil Kumar, addressing the gathering, said that it was a matter of great pride for the Congress party that more and more youths, disillusioned by the hollow and false promises of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind, were now turning towards the Congress with hope and expectation, as they see a bright future for the country under the dynamic leadership of Shri Rahul Gandhi.
Ch. Anil Kumar said that both Modi and Arvind sold false dreams to the young to mislead them, as their promise of generating crores of employment remained unfulfilled. He said that what Shri Rahul Gandhi had said that democracy was in peril, was now proving right, as under the Modi and Arvind Governments, decisions were taken arbitrarily with the intention of indulging in big time corruption, which was clearly evident from the Rafael fighter aircraft deal, and mismanagement of the Covid-19 pandemic crisis. He said that Rahulji waged a brave fight to expose corruption in the Rafael deal, and he has also been waging a valiant battle to protect secularism and communal amity.
Ch. Anil Kumar said that if the Corona virus was spreading fast, it was due to the incompetence of the Arvind Government which relaxed the grip when the virus was on the wane. He said that another full lockdown was no answer to contain the pandemic, instead the RT-PCR tests should be ramped up, containment zones earmarked, infrastructure in hospitals strengthened, the poor be provided free ration and meals, besides cash relief for them to tide over the present Covid crisis, as people have lost jobs and all other means of livelihood.
Ch. Anil Kumar said that those who were the so-called warriors against corruption, and professing high integrity in public life, were now deeply enmeshed in corruption as their only intention was to mislead the people with lies and falsehood to capture power. He said that people have now understood the real faces and intentions of such power-hungry people, and no wonder, the young from the BJP and the AAP were now joining the Congress in droves. He said that Congress’s 15-year rule in Delhi was the golden era of the National Capital when Delhi was turned into a world class metropolis with all-round development.
Ch. Anil Kumar said that Congress has an unmatched history of struggles and sacrifices to serve the nation, and after independence, the young, visionary Congress leaders of the era, under the dynamic leadership of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, devoted their entire life for the service of the nation, and not for serving personal interest. He said that because of their devotion and sincerity, India could create great institutions of learning in engineering, medicine, science and technology. He said that if India could be the first among the big powers to come out with a Covid vaccine, it was only because of the solid foundation laid by past Congress Governments in science and technology.
Ch. Anil Kumar said that lawyers wield tremendous power, and their services can empower the people, particularly the poor and the marginalized, and deliver justice to the society. He said that the Congress party provided legal help to the agitating farmers through its lawyer fraternity while the Arvind Government only forced the police to use their power and might against the lawyers, to create rift between them. He said that the Arvind Government also did not extend any help to the lawyer community during the Corona pandemic lockdown. He said that the BJP and AAP joined hands to appoint lawyers sympathetic to the BJP as public prosecutors for the communal riots in the Capital, and it was foolish to expect justice from them.
