He said that it was clear that the Modi Government at the Centre and the Arvind Government in Delhi were in league, and they have hatched up a plan to stop the door-step delivery of ration plan, to put dust into the eyes of Delhiites, as the fight was about who gets the credit for the scheme, as the Modi Government does not want the scheme to be in the name of the “Mukhyamantri” (Chief Minister). He said that there should not be any politics in the delivery of ration to the poor, who have been totally subjugated due to job loss and all other means of livelihood, on account of the Covid-19 pandemic crisis.

DPCC vice-president Ali Mehndi and Shri Parvez Alam were also present at the press conference.
Shri Haroon Yusuf said that if the Arvind Government was keen on providing ration to the poor, it would not have slashed the number of existing ration card holders, from 35 lakhs to 17 lakhs, and over 11 lakhs families would not have been made to wait to get new ration cards, for the past six years. He said that there are gaping loopholes in the existing ration delivery system, as may ration card holders are denied ration, ration shops remain shut for days together, adulteration of ration is rampant, and despite people standing in queues for hours together, ration items are doled out in a pick-and-choose manner.
Shri Haroon Yusuf wondered that without finalizing the tender, how did the Arvind Government surmised who would deliver door-step ration, and on what basis 100 families in Seemapuri (East Delhi) were selected for the pilot project, to be launched on 25th March, 2021? He said all these unanswered questions make it clear that it was a deliberate plan to skuttle the project.
Shri Haroon Yusuf said that the Congress Government in Delhi started the “Dilli Annashree Yojna: Food security for the vulnerable in Delhi”, which was a pioneering initiative using the Direct Benefit Transfer mechanism to head of the woman of a family, to provide food security to nearly one lakh households in Delhi, which were left uncovered by the existing food security scheme. He said that the Arvind Government not only scrapped this scheme, but also the Ladli Yojna Scheme for the girl child. Shri Yusuf reiterated that the door-step delivery of ration plan was a big scam, like the CCTV camera installation scam, and Chief Minister Arvind was acting like a deaf and dump, about the whole affair.
