Synopsis:
Ch. Anil Kumar said that Delhi Chief Minister Arvind, instead of focusing on how to tackle the pandemic spread, was indulging in blame-games. He said that   it was not the time to indulge in petty politics, as 607 positive cases were detected on 18 March, 2021 to push up the positivity rate to 0.76 %, as the Covid cases almost doubled in ten days, after detecting just 239 cases on 8 March, 2021, which was very worrying.

Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee president Ch. Anil Kumar expressed grave concern at the fourth wave of the Covid-19 pandemic sweeping Delhi, as the Aam Aadmi Party Government had lowered its guard when the Covid positivity rate witnessed a slump, which has now proved to be counter-productive. He said that the AAP Government took it easy when  the positivity rate fell, with CM Arvind and his Cabinet colleagues not following the Covid norms, nor letting the administration follow the Covid protocols.

Ch. Anil Kumar said that the Delhi Government should have been more alert in managing the Covid spread, and demanded that an urgent meeting of the Delhi Disaster Management Authority be convened to plan the strategy to check the virus spread. He also appealed to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind to call an all-party meeting to discuss free vaccination to all Delhiites.

Ch. Anil Kumar said that more people should be brought under the free Covid vaccination bracket, as the Rs 50 crore earmarked in the Delhi budget for free Covid jabs, was very meagre, which will cover only 5 per cent of Delhi’s population. He said that more funds should be allocated for Covid vaccination, as proposed by CM Arvind to provide free vaccination to all Delhiites, as most people are not in a position to afford vaccination on payment in private hospitals.
