Synopsis:
Ch. Anil Kumar said that instead of condemning the anti-Delhi Bill, CM Arvind was lying and misleading the people by saying that no work will be stalled despite the Central Government’s bid. Ch. Anil Kumar said that for the past six years, Delhi CM Arvind has been complaining that the Modi Government, through its points man in Delhi, the Lt. Governor, was not allowing the Delhi Government to function with a free hand.

Responding to Chief Minister Arvind’s late reaction to the anti-Delhi National Capital Territory of Delhi (GNCTD) Act (Amendment) Bill, Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee president Ch. Anil Kumar said that the Delhi Government’s protest today was to throw dust into the eyes of Delhiites. He said that the Delhi CM had already buckled before the Modi Government as he held a make-belief “dharna” today after not speaking out against the Bill for 45 days, when the Modi Cabinet had approved the presentation of the Bill in the Lok Sabha on 3rd February.

Ch. Anil Kumar recalled that a few years ago, at the peak of summer, CM Arvind and some of his Cabinet colleagues had occupied the air-conditioned visitors’ room at Raj Niwas for over a week—when Delhiites were fretting and fuming due to the extreme heat and regular power cuts—to protest against the LG’s interference in Delhi affairs. But now that the Modi Government has brought a Bill to relegate the powers of the Delhi Government by making the Lt. Governor the real power centre, Arvind is assuring the people of Delhi that their works will not be  affected because of the new Bill, which exposes the double talk of  CM Arvind. He said that at the  same time, Arvind was getting subsumed by the draconian laws of the Central Government to stay as a mere bits and pieces player in the Capital, which is a gross injustice to Delhiites, who elected the Aam Aadmi Party to power to serve them.
