Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee president Ch. Anil Kumar slammed Delhi Chief Minister Arvind for telling blatant lies and making unfounded allegations against the Congress in the Delhi Assembly, in an attempt to cash in on the name of “Bhagwan Ram”, to cover up the shortcomings in the “visionless” Delhi Budget. He said that Chief Minister Arvind alleged in the Delhi Assembly, a ”Temple of Democracy”, today that Congress was against the Ram Temple pilgrimage for senior citizens, and in establishing 500 tri-colour masts across Delhi. 

He said that Congress said nothing against the pilgrimage and the tri-colour flag masts, but only exposed the double-talk and lies of the AAP Government, as CM Arvind used impolite, crude language of the RSS, though it’s an accepted  fact that the Aam Aadmi Party was the ”B Team” of the RSS. Ch. Anil Kumar appealed to Delhi Speaker Shri Ram Niwas Goel to maintain the sanctity and dignity of the Assembly by expunging the blatant lies and indecent language of CM Arvind from the Assembly records, and punish him.

Ch. Anil Kumar said that “Bhagwan Ram” belonged to all, and wondered when did Chief Minister Arvind, who conspired with the North Delhi Municipal Corporation and Government officials to demolish a Hanuman Temple in Chandni Chowk in the name of beautification, became a “Ram Bhakt”? He said that it was the Delhi Congress which immediately reacted to the temple demolition, and because of Congress’ strident protest that the temple was rebuilt at the same place.

Ch. Anil Kumar criticized the Arvind Government for trying to “appropriate” the name of “Bhagwan Ram”, by promising the senior citizens of Delhi a free pilgrimage to the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, though the Delhi Budget session, ironically, made no mention of pensions to old people, widows, handicapped, and payment of wages on time to Corona Warriors like doctors, nurses, teachers and sanitation workers.

He said that if the AAP Government was keen and serious about the welfare of senior citizens, then it should make Covid vaccine free for all Delhiites, including senior citizens, in all the Delhi hospitals, both Government and private. He said that the Delhi Government has made no arrangement to ensure free Covid vaccination to old people from poor families, as they are unable to complete the formalities for getting Covid vaccination due to their ignorance, and lack of awareness on how to fill the forms etc.

Ch. Anil Kumar said that Chief Minister Arvind was shedding crocodile tears for senior citizens without doing anything for their welfare all  these years. He wanted to know how many old age homes have been established by the Arvind Government in the past seven years? and why payment of pensions to senior citizens was being delayed inordinately?  He said that instead of addressing the immediate problems facing Delhiites, like the spread of the Corona virus yet again in Delhi, Chief Minister Arvind was trying to sell a false, distant dream to the people, to divert their attention from the massive shortcomings in the budget. He said that Arvind’s promised “Ram Raj” in Delhi can only happen if he ensures the safety and security of children, women, old people, and create employment opportunities for the lakhs of unemployed youth.
