DPCC president Ch. Anil Kumar’s “Poll Khol” padayatra receives huge response from the people, fed up with the corruption, failures and incompetence of the BJP and AAP Governments. The Arvind Government and BJP have not done any development and social welfare works in the past 7 and 14 years, respectively—Ch. Anil Kumar.
Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee president Ch. Anil Kumar said that the Aam Aadmi Party and the BJP, in a concerted bid to divert people’s attention from pressing, immediate problems like the strike of the sanitation workers, and non-payment of salaries to the MCD employees, including Corona Warriors, and the farmers’ protest on Delhi borders, demanding the repeal of the three anti-farmer Agricultural Laws, were now creating a big drama about the Lt. Governor getting more powers.
Addressing Congress workers and local residents during the “Poll Khol” padayatra at Kalyanpuri and Shiv Vihar, near the Shahbad Dairy Bus Stand, MCD Ward No 31 today, as the Congress intensified its campaign for bye-elections to the 5 MCD seats later this month, Ch. Anil Kumar said that due to the sanitation workers’ strike, Delhi has become a huge garbage dump, to make the lives of the people miserable and life threatening.
He said that it was despicable to see cows, let loose, eating plastic waste and rotten garbage lying everywhere. He said that the Congress’ “Poll Khol” padyatra would expose the corruption and non-performance of both the Aam Aamdi Party and BJP Governments during the past seven and 14 years, respectively, as they could not fulfil even one of their election promises.
Besides Ch.Anil Kumar, prominent others who took part in the padayatra were, DPCC vice president Shri Jai Kishan, Delhi Pradesh Mahila Congress president Ms. Amrita Dhawan, Ex MLAs Shri Rajesh Lilothia, Shri Surender Kumar, Shri Brahm Pal, Shri Amrish Gautam, DCC President Dinesh Kumar Advocate, Dr. Naresh Kumar, DP Maurya, Parvez Alam, Brahm Dhikya, Ramesh Pandit, Hari Dutt Sharma, Vijay Kumar, Ex MCs Vidya Devi, Shradhanand Shangwan, Satish Tank, Anoop Shokeen, Sadhuram Mittal, Vijay Kumar, SC department chairman Sunil Kumar, Ramesh Pandit.
Local residents at Kalyan Puri and Shiv Vihar complained to Ch. Anil Kumar that they were living in inhuman and life threatening conditions, as the roads and streets have not been swept, and garbage not been lifted, for the past many weeks.
Ch. Anil Kumar said that Delhi Chief Minister Arvind and his deputy Manish Sisodia were concerned about the Lt. Governor getting more powers now, instead of properly exercising the powers already vested with the Delhi Government, to do development and social welfare works, beneficial to the people.
Ch. Anil Kumar said that during the “Poll Khol” padayatra, local residents complained to him that the elected representatives like MLAs and MPs of the AAP and the BJP, have not visited their constituencies during the entire Corona pandemic lockdown, when people needed their help and support the most.
Ch. Anil Kumar said that both the BJP and AAP Governments had wasted their time in pointless accusations and allegations to score political points. He said that it was shocking that around 11 lakh families (nearly 54 lakh people) have been living without ration cards. He said that the Arvind Government betrayed the people by not enforcing the Food Security Act, enacted by the UPA Government, headed by Dr Manmohan Singh, at the behest of Smt. Sonia Gandhi and Shri Rahul Gandhi.
