Synopsis:
He said that the Modi Government seems to be unmoved by the plight of the farmers, and adamant that it will not repeal the three Laws. He said that the 11 rounds of talks between the farmers and the Modi Government have produced no result, as the Government is firm on not repealing the law and is just fooling the farmers by holding futile talks. He said that the farmers have been insisting on the repeal of the laws, as otherwise, vested interests will trample upon the freedom and rights of the farmers, to virtually take over the agricultural sector of the country.

Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee president Ch. Anil Kumar said that Congress workers will accord warm welcome to the Farmers’ Tractor Rally tomorrow, 26th January 2021, and he himself will be present at one of the points of the rally route to pledge solidarity of the Congress with the farmers’ protest, demanding the repeal of the three anti-farmer Agricultural Laws. He said that the Agricultural Laws, if implemented in the present form, will be a total sell-out of the farm sector to a few chosen Corporates supporting the BJP, therefore the farmers demand repeal of the Laws.

Ch. Anil Kumar said that the farmers have been protesting on the borders of Delhi for over the past 60 days, braving the bone-chilling cold weather, demanding the repeal of the anti-farmer laws, and over 100 farmers have already become martyrs to the cause.

Ch. Anil Kumar said that the tractor rally will be a loud statement of the farmers’ anguish and anxiety at the three Agricultural Laws, which are meant to benefit only a chosen few Corporates, and will be one more sector that will be handed over to a few players in the private sector. He said that the Modi Government has already disinvested profit-making Public Sector institutions, which were nursed with much care and thought for years, on a platter to a few favourite players, and it wants to do the same with the farm sector, but the farmers will not allow the Centre to succeed in this nefarious venture. He said that the Arvind Government, which has been blaming the farmers for the ever-rising air pollution in the Capital and had endorsed one of the three farm laws at a special session of the Assembly, was playing a dubious game by showing ‘mock’ sympathy to the farmers’ protest, though in reality, it was just a B Team of the BJP, and was overtly and covertly supporting the anti-farmer laws.

Ch. Anil Kumar said that Congress was solidly behind the farmers’ cause, and will continue to support them till the three-anti farmer Agricultural Laws are repealed.
