Synopsis:
Ch. Anil Kumar said that Congress is an ideology, a movement, from the pre-independent days, and it continues to serve the country with commitment and devotion, whether it is in power or out of power. He said that those who are sworn to serve the country selflessly will always be part of the Congress, and those who are in power presently at the Centre and in Delhi, are self-serving opportunists bend upon taking the country on the path of destruction.

Prominent leaders from BJP, Aam Aadmi Party and BSP, disillusioned and suffocated with the functioning of these parties, today joined the Congress. They were presented the Congress scarfs and caps by Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee president Ch. Anil Kumar at a function at the DPCC office, Rajiv Bhawan.

Those who joined the Congress family were BJP’s former Youth Block president from Najafgarh Shri Tarun Sharma, Minority Community leader from Aam Aadmi Party Shri Anwar Ali, who is also a member of the Minority Board of the Delhi Government, and MLA candidate of BSP from Uttam Nagar Assembly Shri Deepak Rajput. Prominent others joined were Syed Shahabuddin, Nitish Kumar, Mohammad Wasim, Mohd Atiq, Mohd Chand, Raja and Ravi Kumar. These leaders, along with a large number of their followers, including from the minority community, joined the Congress. The leaders and workers of the Aam Aadmi Party felt betrayed and cheated by the Arvined Government in Delhi as there was no internal democracy in the functioning of the Aam Aadmi Party. They joined the Congress as they were greatly influenced by the dynamic leadership of the Congress by Smt. Sonia Gandhi and  Shri Rahul Gandhi, and the policies and programmes of the Congress, intended to serve the people honestly and selflessly, particularly the poor, downtrodden, Minorities and Dalits.

Ch Anil Kumar said that though those who feed the country—the farmers—have been sitting on dharna at the borders of Delhi under an open sky, demanding the repeal of the three destructive black agricultural laws, the Modi Government has not bothered to listen to their genuine demands and end the impasse, even though over 40 farmers have already sacrificed their lives while sitting on protest. Instead, he said, the Modi Government has been sticking to an egoistic stand of not repealing the three black laws, which will be ruinous for the farm sector as well as the country, in the long run. He said that Delhi CM Arvind has been shedding crocodile tears for the farmers though he has also not rolled back one of the three black laws his Government has endorsed and notified after a session of the Assembly.
