Synopsis:
Arvind Government trying to cover up failures through advertisements and publicity—Corona pandemic exposes the truth. Arvind Government makes partial opening of the hospitals, works on which were started by the Congress Government at Ambedkar Nagar and Burari, after DPCC President Ch. Anil Kumar puts pressure—Pawan Khera. Delhi Govt should also make the Indira Gandhi Hospital at Dwarka, started by the Congress Government, operational-Pawan Khera. Arvind Government sheds crocodile tears on the draconian anti-farmer Bills passed by the Mod Government—he should clarify whether the Delhi Government will implement the Bills or not—Pawan Khera added.

AICC spokesperson Shri Pawan Khera said that Delhi Chief Minister Arvind should discard his penchant for publicity, and instead concentrate on creating facilities at the ground level to effectively tackle the Covid-19 pandemic surge, which seemed to have gone out of the control of the Delhi Government.

Addressing a press conference, as part of the Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee’s campaign to expose the utter failures of the Arvind Government on all fronts of Governance, at the DPCC office, Rajiv Bhawan here today, Shri Pawan Khera said that the Delhi Government was trying to cover up its failures through advertisements.

He said that the Modi Government was also guilty of misleading the people by selling various types of “packages” instead of checking the fast spread of the Covid pandemic through strong measures at the ground level. He said that the Arvind Government was deriving immense pleasure in personal publicity at the cost of the taxpayer.

Shri Pawan Khera wondered how long can the Arvind Government live in an illusionary world, by covering up its failures to check the Covid-19 pandemic spread and deaths, as according to the Corona statistics coming out, the pandemic has reached a frightening stage, and Arvind was only indulging in verbal pyro-techniques without creating the necessary infrastructure to address the issue.

He said that the Delhi Government should have made effective utilization of the budgetary allocation for the health sector to tackle the Covid spread, as it has spent only 25 per cent of the budget allocation when the need was to strengthen the facilities in hospitals and other areas by taking Covid-specific measures. He recalled that the Aam Aadmi Party, in its election manifesto, had promised to add 30,000 beds in hospitals, but only increased 716 beds in the last five years. He said that it was only after Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee president Ch. Anil Kumar put pressure on the Arvind Government that it got the big hospitals at Ambedkar Nagar and Burari, started by the Congress Government, partially ready to treat patients.

He said that along with these two hospitals and the Indira Gandhi Dwarka Hospital, also started by the Congress Government, there is a combined bed strength of 1241, and the Arvind Government’s eyes were opened on this fact only after  DPCC President Ch. Anil Kumar put pressure on the Government to make these hospitals operational.

Shri Pawan Khera said that the Arvind Government has not only failed to create any new infrastructure on the health sector but also failed to properly manage the infrastructure created by the Congress Government. He said that during this Covid pandemic times, there is a 31 per cent shortage of doctors, 21 per cent shortage of nurses and paramedical staff. He said that because the Arvind Government has failed to fill these vacancies, it was using the services of those who are on the third and fourth year of their MBBS courses. He said that instead of adding to the facilities created by the Congress Government, it has only ruined the facilities and infrastructure created by the Congress Government.

Shri Pawan Khera said that the Arvind Government was making tall promises after increasing the budget allocation for the health sector, but surprisingly this budget allocation has not been used for the welfare of the common people, who depend on government hospitals for their treatment and virtual survival. He said that the Arvind Government had made big claims on the Mohalla Clinics and even logged international headlines for facilities it had abjectly failed to create, as it could manage to set up only 203 Mohalla Clinics, instead of the promised 1000, and only six Mohalla Clinics hold Covid tests.

Shri Pawan Khera said that due to the wrong steps and policies of the Arvind Government, the economy of the Capital has been totally wrecked, and the Delhi Congress, under the leadership Ch. Anil Kumar will expose these failures through press conferences, banners, hoardings, posters and social media, to counter the false projection of facts by the Delhi Government.

Shri Pawan Khera said that the Arvind Government was shedding crocodile tears on the three draconian anti-farmer Bills passed by the Modi Government without any discussion in Parliament. He said that CM Arvind should clarify whether his Government would implement or not when the Bills come into effect.
