Delhi Congress, under the leadership of DPCC President Ch. Anil Kumar, holds a massive Kisan Adhikar Tractor Yatra, to protest against the three anti-farmer Bills passed by the Modi Government. The Modi Government should immediately withdraw the anti-farmer Bills and create a farmer-friendly atmosphere to increase the farm outputs and benefits of the farmers.
India’s self-sufficiency in food and many sectors of agriculture owes to the Green Revolution that Smt. Indira Gandhi had pioneered—Ch. Anil Kumar.
The Arvind Government, which calls special Assembly sessions even for minor matters, has neither called an Assembly session to reject the anti-farmer Bills nor spoken against them, which shows its anti-farmer attitude—Ch. Anil Kumar.
A large number of farmers, Congress workers and the common people, under the leadership of Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee President Ch. Anil Kumar, held a massive Kisan Adhikar Tractor Yatra today, to protest against the three anti-farmer Bills passed by the Modi Government without any discussion in Parliament, to favour his rich friends from the private sector.
The tractor yatra started from the Divya Jyoti Ashram, Jatkhore, Bawana and concluded at the main road, Barwala. The rally was held on the eve of former Prime Minister, Bharat Ratna the late Smt. Indira Gandhi’s birth anniversary, as she was the architect of the Green Revolution, which created a food surplus, injected enterprise and enthusiasm among the farmers, in the country.
Ch. Anil Kumar said that farmers play a very big role in shaping our nation’s economic and political destiny. He said that India’s self-sufficiency in food and many sectors of agriculture owes to the Green Revolution that Smt. Indira Gandhi had pioneered. He said that as a result of Indira Ji’s pro-farmer programmes and policies, India converted an acute dependency on imported food and agricultural products to becoming an exporter of many agricultural products.
Before the start of the Kisan Adhikar Tractor Yatra, the farmers honoured Ch. Anil Kumar by placing a “Pagri” on his head. As the Kisan Yatra progressed, a large number of police force stopped the yatra midway. Addressing the farmers, their leaders, Congress workers and the common people, Ch. Anil Kumar said that the Delhi police was trying to stifle the democratic voice of the farmers and the Congress workers by stopping the Kisan Yatra, but when the BJP and the Aam Aadmi Party hold big rallies and protests, Delhi Police stand as mute spectators.
Ch. Anil Kumar demanded that the Modi Government withdraw the anti-farmer Bills immediately and create a farmer-friendly atmosphere to increase the farm outputs and benefits of the farmers.
Ch. Anil Kumar also lashed out at the Aam Aadmi Party Government in Delhi, which is the ‘B’ team of the BJP-RSS combine, as the Arvind Government, which calls special Assembly sessions even for minor matters, has neither called a session of the Assembly to reject the anti-farmer Bills nor spoken against the Bills.
Ch. Anil Kumar said that he is the son of a farmer and very proud to be one among the farmers. He assured that he will be with the farmers in their fight against the three anti-farmer draconian Bills passed by the Modi Government, which will deny the farmers reasonable, assured prices for their farm products.
He said that the Modi Government’s anti-farmer Bills were a complete sell-out to the private sector, which will henceforth decide the pricing of the farm products to deny a fair deal to the farmers, who toil hard on the fields to boost the economy of the country, even during these Covid-stressed economic times. He said that those who proclaim to be “Garib” and wear costly suits are only helping a select group of rich people while only the Congress was speaking up for the rights of the farmers, and demanding justice for them.
Ch. Anil Kumar said that it was gladdening to see thousands of farmers participate in the Kisan Adhikar Tractor Yatra, and if PM Modi sees the assembly of farmers in large numbers, he will realize the power of those who till the land, which the Prime Minister was trying to barter to the private sector through these anti-farmer Bills. He asked the Prime Minister to listen to the voice of the farmers and pass Bills that will suit the farmers and the farm sector,
Ch. Anil Kumar said that the brave soldiers, who become martyrs defending the inhospitable borers of the country to repulse the enemies, are sons of farmers, and not the sons of rich industrialists and powerful people, for whose benefit the Modi Government has passed the anti-farmer Bills so that a particular group of Modi’s rich friends can milk the hard-working farmers to fill up their coffers.
Besides DPCC President Ch. Anil Kumar, prominent among those who participated in the Kisan Adhikar Tractor Yatra were DPCC vice-presidents Jaikishan, Abhishek Dutt, Ali Mehndi, Delhi Pradesh Kisan Cell president Rajbir Solanki, Delhi Pradesh Mahila Congress president Smt. Amrita Dhawan, Rajesh Lilothia, ex-MLAs Surendra Kumar and Vijay Lochav, district president Harikishan Jindal, Dr Naresh, Municipal Councillor Ved Pal, district president Rajesh Chauhan and Sadhu Ram Mittal.
