New Delhi: The security system at the prominent Lady Hardinge Medical College and Hospital has come under serious scrutiny, with allegations of negligence and corruption raising concerns over patient safety.


Several videos and images emerging from the hospital premises clearly show security guards asleep on chairs while on duty outside OPD units, emergency wards, and general wards. This has sparked alarm among thousands of patients and their attendants who rely on the facility daily.


Questions Over Contracted Security Agency
The responsibility of hospital security has been assigned to Isha Productional Security Guard Private Limited. However, the agency is facing allegations of failing to discharge its duties effectively. Sources claim that irregularities and alleged manipulation of documents were involved in awarding the contract, and complaints have reportedly reached the Central Vigilance Commission (CVC).


Allegations of Extortion from Patients
One of the most serious accusations is that security guards are openly extorting money from patients. From facilitating OPD registrations to allowing quicker access to doctors, guards allegedly demand bribes. Patients who refuse to pay reportedly face misbehavior and harassment.


A viral video further substantiates these claims, showing a guard openly accepting money, raising serious questions about the hospital administration’s oversight.


Guards on Duty Under Influence
Incidents of guards consuming cigarettes and alcohol within the hospital premises have also surfaced. In one video, a guard is heard saying, “We even drink alcohol openly; this is just a cigarette.”


Such statements reflect blatant disregard for rules and highlight the deteriorating state of discipline and security.


Deployment Without Verification
Social activist Amarnath has alleged that several guards have been deployed without proper police verification. He has demanded immediate cancellation of the agency’s contract and a fresh, transparent process for appointment.


Safety of Thousands at Stake
The hospital caters to thousands of patients ежедневно and also houses a medical college with hundreds of students. Despite this, the current state of security remains deeply concerning.

With multiple complaints and video evidence surfacing, there is growing demand for strict administrative action. Experts warn that if timely intervention is not made, such negligence could lead to a major untoward incident.
