Mission Saksham Anganwadi and Poshan 2.0, under the Ministry of Women and Child Development, is a Centrally Sponsored Scheme aimed at strengthening nutrition services and tackling malnutrition across India. It targets key beneficiaries including children under 6 years, pregnant and lactating women, and adolescent girls (14–18 years in Aspirational Districts and the North-East).
The Poshan Tracker mobile application has been introduced as an ICT-based tool to monitor Anganwadi services in near real time. It simplifies data entry, reduces administrative workload, and improves service delivery. Anganwadi Workers (AWWs) are provided smartphones and ₹2000 annually for internet expenses.
To address connectivity challenges, the app supports offline data entry for daily activities such as attendance, meal distribution, and pre-school sessions, ensuring uninterrupted services. Block and District coordinators provide technical support to AWWs.
Additionally, the Department of Telecommunications is enhancing internet access in rural and remote areas through initiatives like BharatNet and the Digital Bharat Nidhi, with priority given to connecting government institutions including Anganwadi centres.
Overall, the initiative promotes efficient service delivery and improved nutrition outcomes across the country.
