The Government of India has opened nominations for the Padma Awards 2027, to be announced on Republic Day, 2027. Nominations started on 15th March 2026 and will close on 31st July 2026.

The awards, Padma Vibhushan, Padma Bhushan, and Padma Shri, recognize exceptional contributions in fields like Art, Literature, Education, Sports, Medicine, Social Work, Science, Public Affairs, Civil Service, Trade and Industry, among others. Nominations are open to all citizens, including self-nominations, but government servants (except doctors and scientists) are not eligible.

The government encourages nominations highlighting contributions from women, marginalized communities, SCs & STs, and differently-abled individuals.
