Bharat Vikas Parishad, through its Environmental Activities wing, organized an insightful and inspiring program at its Central Office in Delhi to mark World Wildlife Day. The event aimed to raise awareness about wildlife conservation, the importance of biodiversity, and the need for sustainable development. The program was attended by academicians, environmentalists, students, and social workers.

Suresh Jain, National Organization Secretary of Bharat Vikas Parishad, graced the occasion. In his address, he highlighted the importance of wildlife conservation and emphasized that protecting nature is a moral responsibility of every human being. He also informed the audience about the five major activities of Bharat Vikas Parishad and explained how the organization supports the underprivileged and marginalized sections of society through initiatives in education, health, values, service, and dedication. He noted that the Parishad’s mission is not only environmental protection but also extending service to the last person in society.

The keynote speaker, Prof. Radheshyam Sharma, Head of the Department of Environmental Studies at Delhi University, delivered an inspiring lecture. He emphasized that small efforts at both individual and community levels can significantly contribute to sustainable development. Stressing the principle “Nature is First and Human is Second,” he said that lasting development is impossible without maintaining harmony with nature. He also encouraged youth to explore ecological entrepreneurship by combining traditional knowledge with innovation.
Guest speaker Dr. Gaurav Barhodiya, Assistant Professor at Ramanujan College, Delhi University, gave a scientific presentation on snakes. He explained that India is home to around 350 species of snakes, of which only about 10 percent are venomous. He emphasized that most snakes play a vital role in maintaining ecological balance.
During the program, Prof. Niranjan, Dean Planning, Delhi University, and Dr. J. R. Bhatt, National Coordinator of Environmental Activities, also shared their views and stressed the importance of collective efforts for wildlife conservation.
The event was also graced by the presence of Rakesh Sharma, Arihant Jain, and Rajkumar Bagga, along with several professors from Delhi University and other distinguished guests. All participants expressed their commitment to environmental protection.
The program concluded with an interactive question-and-answer session in which participants enthusiastically engaged with the speakers. The event ended with a collective pledge to protect wildlife and maintain ecological balance.
