In a major boost to urban transport infrastructure in the national capital, Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate two new metro corridors in Delhi on March 8 and lay the foundation stone for three additional corridors under the next phase of metro expansion.
According to Rekha Gupta, the combined cost of these projects exceeds ₹18,300 crore, marking one of the largest metro infrastructure expansions in the city.
She stated that the expansion will significantly improve public transport connectivity, reduce road congestion, and help control pollution, contributing to the vision of a “Viksit Delhi” (Developed Delhi).
The inauguration ceremony will take place at the DDA Utsav Sthal-3 near Nirankari Mandal.
