Marking the completion of one year in office, the Delhi government has unveiled an expansive report card highlighting what it describes as a year defined not by promises, but by performance. Presenting a narrative of service, good governance and accelerated development, the administration asserted that the past 365 days have witnessed tangible progress across key sectors including infrastructure, education, environment, sanitation and public welfare.

The government maintained that its focus on execution, transparency and financial discipline has laid a strong foundation for a “Viksit Delhi” (Developed Delhi), while ensuring that benefits reach citizens at the grassroots level.

Historic Push in Infrastructure and Drainage Reform
Placing infrastructure at the heart of its governance model, the government claimed record investment in road construction, repair and expansion across the Capital. Thousands of kilometres of roads were reportedly repaired, reconstructed and widened to ease congestion and enhance connectivity.

Key Highlights:
Record spending on road repair and redevelopment
Special anti-waterlogging drives during monsoon
Launch of new traffic decongestion projects
Strengthening of drainage and sewer networks
Large-scale desilting of drains and expansion of sewer lines were undertaken to prevent urban flooding and modernise civic infrastructure, officials said.

Yamuna Rejuvenation: A Renewed Environmental Commitment
Reaffirming its commitment to restoring the Yamuna, the government emphasized that cleaning the river remains a top priority. Measures undertaken include:
Enhancing the capacity of sewage treatment plants (STPs)
Curbing illegal discharge of waste
Beautification and redevelopment of river ghats
According to the administration, visible progress has been achieved toward making the Yamuna cleaner and ecologically sustainable.

Education Reforms Signal Structural Transformation
The education sector witnessed what the government described as a “new wave of reform.” Government schools saw expansion of modern facilities, including smart classrooms and upgraded laboratories.
A major policy intervention came in the form of the Fee Regulation Act, aimed at ensuring transparency and preventing arbitrary fee hikes in private schools.

Major Achievements:
Introduction of smart classrooms and advanced labs
Implementation of fee regulation for accountability
Focus on holistic student development
Officials stated that these reforms are designed to strengthen public education while safeguarding parents’ interests.

Financial Discipline Fuels Development
The government credited fiscal prudence and transparent governance for enabling higher capital expenditure. Increased investment in infrastructure and welfare schemes, it said, has generated employment opportunities and stimulated economic activity in the Capital.

Policy analysts note that the emphasis on on-ground implementation reflects a shift toward results-oriented governance.
Cleanliness, Waste Management and Pollution Control
Significant steps were also highlighted in sanitation and environmental management. These include:
Scientific disposal and reduction of landfill sites
Modernised waste management strategies
Measures to combat air pollution
Officials described the progress as an encouraging beginning, promising faster momentum in the years ahead.

A Year of Visible Change
Summing up its first year, the government asserted that decisive leadership, planning and accountability have begun to reshape Delhi’s development trajectory.

The 365-day report card, it claimed, reflects not just administrative achievements but a renewed public confidence in governance that delivers.

As the administration charts its next phase, it projects an accelerated push toward infrastructure modernisation, environmental restoration and inclusive growth — positioning the Capital for a more resilient and future-ready transformation.
