Marengo Asia Hospitals, Gurugram organised a Blood Health Awareness Ride to highlight the importance of early detection, timely diagnosis and preventive care for blood-related disorders. Doctors, healthcare professionals and citizens came together to spread awareness about blood health and encourage proactive health-seeking behaviour.

“Awareness is key because most blood disorders manifest quietly as the disease progresses. This rally helped us reach individuals directly to promote understanding of blood health and encourage people to seek medical attention early, before it becomes a serious health issue,” said Dr. Meet Kumar, Clinical Director and Head of Haematology Oncology & Bone Marrow Transplant, Marengo Asia Hospitals, Gurugram.

The bike rally was flagged off by the chief guest Shri Tejapal Tawar, Hon’ble Member of the Legislative Assembly, Haryana, and Dr. Praveen Gupta, Chairman, Marengo Asia International Institute of Neuro & Spine (MAIINS), Marengo Asia Hospitals, Gurugram. The rally commenced from Sector 56, Gurugram, made stops at Rao Hotel and Old Rao Dhaba, and concluded at the starting point. Designed to extend its impact beyond the city, the initiative aimed to spread awareness across South Haryana, covering multiple districts including Rewari, Mahendragarh, Narnaul, Bhiwadi, Pataudi and Dharuhera.

The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from doctors, hospital staff, bikers and fitness enthusiasts, reflecting strong community support for the cause. Designed as a community-driven initiative, the rally aimed to connect people from all walks of life while reinforcing the message that treatment, prevention and awareness must go hand in hand.

Blood plays a vital role in carrying oxygen, fighting infections, supporting growth and maintaining energy levels. However, several blood disorders such as anaemia, thalassemia, blood cancers and other haematological conditions often go unnoticed due to the absence of early symptoms. The objective of the rally was to promote regular blood testing, awareness of warning signs and timely medical intervention.

“In children, blood disorders can progress rapidly if they are missed. When parents and caregivers are aware of potential signs, they can seek help sooner, leading to better treatment outcomes. Initiatives like this rally help bridge the gap between medical expertise and community awareness,” said Dr. Neeraj Teotia, Consultant, Paediatric Haematology and Bone Marrow Transplant, Marengo Asia Hospitals, Gurugram.

In addition to promoting blood health awareness, the rally also emphasized road safety, physical fitness and social responsibility. Participants were encouraged to follow safe riding practices, including helmet use, and view the event as a step toward building a healthier lifestyle.

Marengo Asia Hospitals also urged citizens to make blood health a regular part of their preventive healthcare routine by undergoing periodic blood tests and consulting specialists if they experience persistent symptoms such as fatigue, frequent infections or unexplained bruising. The hospital reiterated its commitment to supporting early diagnosis through expert-led clinics and advanced diagnostic facilities.

The rally served as a regional awareness drive for South Haryana, reaching diverse communities across multiple districts and reinforcing the importance of early diagnosis and preventive care for blood-related disorders. Through initiatives such as the Blood Health Awareness Ride, Marengo Asia Hospitals, Gurugram continues to reinforce its mission of building a healthier, more informed society by promoting education, prevention and early intervention, while fostering stronger community engagement across the region.
