In a major boost to higher education opportunities for Delhi’s students, Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU) has launched its Admission Brochure for the Academic Session 2026–27, announcing the introduction of 24 new academic programmes across emerging and high-demand disciplines.

The admission brochures for Undergraduate, Postgraduate and PhD programmes were formally released at a function held at the India International Centre (IIC) on Tuesday. The online application process will begin from February 2, covering more than 43,000 seats across 130+ affiliated colleges and university schools.

The brochures were jointly unveiled by Delhi Government’s Education Minister Shri Ashish Sood and Vice Chancellor of GGSIPU, Prof. (Dr.) Mahesh Verma.

Addressing the gathering, Education Minister Ashish Sood said the launch of the admission brochure symbolises the government’s commitment to strengthening public education in the national capital.

“There was a time when pursuing quality higher education meant leaving Delhi, placing a heavy financial burden on middle-class families. That reality has changed today. IP University stands as a strong model of accessible, affordable and future-ready public education,” he said.

Highlighting the university’s growth, the minister noted that GGSIPU now offers over 230 academic programmes, spanning cutting-edge areas such as Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, Data Science, Law, Medicine, Design and Technology, reflecting Delhi’s evolving educational ecosystem.

Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Mahesh Verma said the university’s expansion is aligned with national priorities and global academic trends.

“Our focus is on creating multidisciplinary, skill-oriented and inclusive programmes that prepare students for global challenges. The introduction of new courses and weekend programmes is aimed at widening access, promoting innovation and supporting lifelong learning,” he said.

Special emphasis has been placed on Teacher Education and Inclusive Education, including B.A. B.Ed. The university has also affiliated nine new institutions this year, while several programmes are already operational at the Narela campus, with more in the pipeline.
