Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Thursday asserted that the revival of India’s spiritual consciousness and cultural values is central to addressing the world’s most pressing challenges. Emphasising India’s civilisational ethos, he said, “When India awakens, the world too will shine.”
Addressing a gathering in Haridwar during his visit to Uttarakhand, Amit Shah said global well-being is deeply linked to India’s spiritual awakening. He underlined that Indian culture is not merely a legacy of the past but a guiding force for the present and the future. “It is in the revival of Indian culture, its values and traditions that solutions to global problems lie,” he remarked.
The Home Minister noted that despite rapid material progress, the world today is grappling with mental unrest, social imbalance and moral challenges. In such a scenario, he said, India’s spiritual traditions can offer humanity a path of balance, peace and harmony.
Highlighting the significance of Devbhoomi Uttarakhand, Amit Shah said the land has for centuries been a centre of penance, meditation and spiritual pursuit. He added that the spiritual energy of the region continues to inspire seekers and thinkers across generations.
Sharing his personal experience, Shah said he felt a unique spiritual energy in Haridwar, which he attributed to centuries of devotion and penance by sages and seekers. “India’s spiritual strength is not confined within its borders; it has the potential to guide the global community towards collective well-being,” he said.
Policy observers believe Amit Shah’s remarks reinforce India’s growing role as a moral and spiritual voice on the global stage, positioning its ancient wisdom as a vital component in shaping a more peaceful and balanced world order.
