East Delhi | Arun Sharma

In a major boost to healthcare infrastructure in East Delhi, the Vitalis Superspeciality Children Hospital was formally inaugurated in Dilshad Colony, bringing advanced and accessible medical care closer to thousands of children and their families in the region.
Until now, families with critically ill children were often forced to travel long distances to Central or South Delhi for specialised treatment. The burden of travel, time loss and high medical expenses frequently delayed treatment. With the opening of this state-of-the-art children’s hospital, a significant gap in paediatric healthcare in East Delhi is expected to be bridged.

Addressing the gathering at the inauguration ceremony, Standing Committee Chairman of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi, Satya Sharma, delivered a strong and compassionate message to the hospital management. He emphasised that healthcare should not be treated merely as a business, but as a social responsibility.
He urged the hospital administration to ensure that no poor or needy patient is denied treatment due to lack of money, and appealed for special provisions for free and subsidised treatment for underprivileged children.
Satya Sharma said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi remains a source of inspiration, adding that the vision of a clean, beautiful and healthy India is essential for the nation’s progress.

The inauguration witnessed the presence of several prominent political leaders, social workers and medical professionals. Among those present were Seemapuri MLA Veer Singh Dhingan, Babarpur Councillor Mukesh Bansal, Dilshad Garden Councillor Veer Singh Pawar, and former Delhi Mayor Ram Narayan Dubey, all of whom described the hospital as a landmark achievement for East Delhi.

Joint Initiative of Dr Mohit Sharma and Dr Dev Kumar Jha
Founding doctors Dr Mohit Sharma and Dr Dev Kumar Jha described the hospital as their first joint healthcare initiative, driven by the vision of combining advanced medical treatment with social responsibility.
Both doctors assured that no child would be deprived of treatment due to financial constraints, and pledged to extend all possible support to economically weaker families with full accountability and sensitivity.
Advanced Paediatric Care Under One Roof
