he Bhavnagar convention of the Patrakar Ekta Parishad marked the beginning of a new era for the organization and the journalistic community of Gujarat. Held under the chairmanship of Bhavnagar State Yuvraj Shri Vijayarajsinhji Gohil, the convention received widespread appreciation for its grand success.
During the convention, the announcement of Shri Jayveer Rajsinhji Gohil as the host of the next year’s convention brought immense joy and enthusiasm among journalists. The declaration that the upcoming convention will be hosted by Bhavnagar State further added to the celebratory atmosphere.

State President Shri Labhubhai Katrodia made a landmark announcement, launching a campaign to provide an insurance cover of ₹10 lakh to journalists across all 34 districts of Gujarat within one year. Moving beyond the traditional practice of honoring journalists alone, the organization has now expanded its vision to include the honoring of social leaders, donors, and officials, while also prioritizing the welfare and security of journalists and their families.
On Sunday, the 28th, three conventions were successfully organized consecutively at Shivshakti Hall, Crescent, near Sardar Smruti in Bhavnagar. The event was graced by the presence of District Collector Shri Manish Kumar Bansal, along with a large gathering of invited dignitaries and office bearers from the state, district, and zonal levels.
The new announcements made by the State President set the convention on a fresh and progressive path, providing direction to the entire state of Gujarat from Bhavnagar. With initiatives such as membership registration, identity cards, record-based organization, and insurance coverage, the Patrakar Ekta Parishad has taken a decisive step toward becoming a fully structured and robust organization.
A particularly memorable moment occurred when Bhavnagar State Yuvraj Shri Vijayarajsinhji Gohil, who had previously attended as an invited guest, once again presided over the convention. Upon assuming the chair, he announced that the next convention would be held at Nilambag Palace, Bhavnagar. This announcement was met with thunderous applause and visible excitement among journalists.
District Collector Shri Manish Kumar Bansal, in his address, shared real-life insights from social life in a light and engaging manner, creating a warm and lively atmosphere on the stage.
Prominent contributors including Gaurav Sheth and Bhupatbhai Sheth of Sheth Brothers, K.K. Gohil, and builder K.C. Chudasama announced financial assistance of ₹25,000 from the stage. Support was also extended by Sumi Tomo and Madhu Silica through their representatives. Narsangbhai from Mehsana emphasized the importance of lifelong learning, stating that the treasure of knowledge never ends.

The Women’s Wing honored the Yuvraj Shri and welcomed a senior leader of the organization by presenting a commemorative photograph as a token of remembrance. It was also announced that two-day camps would be organized in every district in the coming days to collect documentation for the insurance scheme and to strengthen the membership drive.
The program was smoothly and effectively anchored by BCCI commentator Shri Harshbhai Rawal. Under the leadership of District Convention Team President Shri Milan Kuvadiya, the dedicated efforts of Nitin Ghelani, Mahipatsinh Jadeja, Neeraj Dabhi, Hardeep Joshi, Vijay Bhatt, Praveensinh Jadeja, Amit Parmar, Praveen Patel, Jasmin Lambhani, Ashwin Gohel, and the entire team played a key role in making the convention a grand success.
