Sending out a strong and unambiguous message against corruption and administrative negligence, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has ordered decisive action against erring revenue officials. Acting on her directives, the Sub-Registrar of Kapashera and the Tehsildar of Mehrauli have been suspended with immediate effect, while the licence of a deed writer posted in Kapashera has been cancelled.

The action follows a series of complaints and serious allegations of corruption and misconduct against the officials concerned. The Delhi government made it clear that officers who obstruct public services or misuse their authority will find no place in the administration.

Reaffirming her government’s stand, CM Rekha Gupta said the policy of the Delhi government is crystal clear—only officers who work with honesty, accountability and sensitivity towards public grievances deserve to remain in service. Any official found delaying work, harassing citizens or indulging in corrupt practices will face strict and immediate consequences, she said.

“This action is a clear warning. Those who create hurdles in public service or indulge in corruption will not be spared,” the Chief Minister asserted.

Officials said the move is not an isolated one but part of a broader effort to clean up the administrative system. The Chief Minister also underlined that this is just the beginning, and similar action will be taken wherever complaints of corruption or negligence surface, without fear or favour.

The Delhi government stated that the decision should serve as an example for the entire bureaucracy. Officers have been cautioned that dereliction of duty, lack of accountability and corrupt conduct will not be tolerated under any circumstances.

The swift action is being seen as a strong signal of the government’s resolve to ensure a transparent, responsive and citizen-centric administration in the national capital.
