In a dignified and well-attended ceremony held at Garhwal Bhawan, senior journalist Harish Rawat was conferred with the prestigious ‘Garh Gaurav Veer Chandra Singh Garhwali Award’ in recognition of his outstanding, impartial and people-centric contribution to journalism and social service.


The award acknowledges Rawat’s long-standing commitment to fearless journalism rooted in social responsibility. Over the years, he has consistently used his pen as a tool to amplify public concerns, highlight grassroots issues and uphold the ethical values of the profession, particularly focusing on matters related to Uttarakhand and social justice.


The ceremony was graced by eminent dignitaries, including SDM Pradyumn Bijalwan, former Additional Secretary of the Lok Sabha Devendra Aswal, and senior Supreme Court advocate and noted entrepreneur T. S. Bhandari, who jointly presented the citation and memento to the awardee.
