Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee president Shri Devender Yadav appealed to the newly-appointed observes in the all the 70 Assembly segments, consisting of 5-6 blocks, under the Sangathan Srijan Abhiyan to put their primary focus on the appointment of BLA-II (Block Level Agents) in view of the impending SIR (Special Intensive Revision) of the voter rolls to be held in the Capital by the Election Commission, which has become very crucial after Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha Shri Rahul Gandhi exposed the vote theft (Vote Chori) by the BJP in collusion with the Election Commission.
Addressing the first meeting of the newly-appointed Assembly observers at the DPCC office, Rajiv Bhawan here today, Shri Devender Yadav said that they should work hard to strengthen the party at the booth level, execute the works assigned to them by the party effectively, for which they should keep in regular contacts with the Lok Sabha and District observers, and prominent citizens who subscribe to the Congress ideology to strengthen the party at the grass root level.
Shri Devender Yadav said that most candidates, who contested the MCD (Municipal Corporation of Delhi) elections, have become laid back and the Assembly observers should make regular interaction with them to motivate and activate them, as the party organization should be fully energized and prepared to face any coming contests. He said that the observers should also motivate public to participate in th Delhi Congress’ signature campaign against Vote Chori to make everyone aware of the malpractices committed by the BJP in collusion with the Election Commission.
Besides Shri Devender Yadav and observers of all the 70 Assemblies, prominent others present at the meeting were former Delhi Minister Dr Narendra Nath, Booth Committee Management Chairman Shri Rajesh Garg and Administration Incharge Shri Jatin Sharma.
Shri Devender Yadav said that for the past six months, the party’s main focus was to strengthen the organization and the process of formation of the Mandalams and Sectors in every block was completed, and new presidents were appointed in 150 Block Congress Committees to fully energise the party apparatus. He said that the Assembly observers will take the lead in implementing the programmes of the party in their respective Assembly segments, which will give a big push for strengthening the organization at the booth-level which was an essential requirement for the party’s consolidation at all levels. He said that the observers will be responsible and accountable for the party’s activities in their Assemblies, and for their co-ordination.
Shri Devender Yadav said that meetings with the Assembly observers will be a regular feature to evaluate the progress made by them and the impact their works have brought about in their respective areas, including the Blocks, Mandalams and Sectors.
