Salient points of press conference of BJP National Spokesperson & Rajya Sabha MP Dr Sudhanshu Trivedi
A large part of North Bengal is grappling with the tragedy of floods. While Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is busy attending cultural events, the BJP is busy serving the flood-affected people. the BJP is busy serving the flood-affected people. This is what Trinamool Congress is unable to digest.

If the murderous attack on Malda MP Shri Khagen Murmu in West Bengal is called the “dirge of democracy,” it would not be an exaggeration.
****************************
No amount of condemnation would be enough for the heinous attack on our MP Shri Khagen Murmu, State BJP President Shri Shamik Bhattacharya and our MLA Shri Shankar Ghosh by Trinamool Congress goons who were on a visit to the flood-affected area in North Malda today.
****************************
Since the Trinamool Congress government came to power in West Bengal, committing violence and destroying law and order has become a common occurrence. Under the Trinamool Congress rule, even MPs and MLAs are no longer safe
****************************
A few days ago, a video emerged showing Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee dancing at a tribal program while wearing gloves. Why did she wear gloves while dancing with the women? Did she harbor a sense of disdain toward the women present there?
****************************
The violent incidents occurring in West Bengal today do not reflect the Bengal of Aurobindo, nor of Ramakrishna Paramahamsa, Swami Vivekananda, or Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore. Under Mamata’s rule, Bengal appears more like the Bengal of Hussain Shaheed Suhrawardy
****************************
As the English saying goes, “Rome was burning while Nero was playing the lyre,” but here, Bengal is drowning while Mamata Banerjee is dancing
****************************
Bharatiya Janata Party Karyakartas and leaders will neither be stopped nor bowed down by Mamata Banerjee’s tyranny, misconduct, and violence. The enlightened people of Bengal fully understand this conspiracy and malintent, and they will give an appropriate response in the upcoming elections

In West Bengal, the Trinamool Congress government’s actions of protecting violent and disruptive elements, along with various extremist and anti-national forces, are an insult to Bengal’s Bhadralok culture
Bharatiya Janata Party National Spokesperson and Rajya Sabha MP Dr. Sudhanshu Trivedi addressed a Press Conference at the BJP Central Office in New Delhi on Monday. Dr. Trivedi condemned the deadly attack on BJP MP from Malda, Shri Khagen Murmu, who belongs to the tribal community. He said that ever since the Trinamool Congress government came to power in West Bengal, violence, the breakdown of decency, and the collapse of law and order have become a common occurrence.
Dr. Sudhanshu Trivedi stated that while Bihar is moving towards elections, symbolizing the progress of democracy, West Bengal, on the other hand, is heading towards the decline of democracy. Ever since the Trinamool Congress government came to power in West Bengal, violence, the collapse of law and order, and the erosion of democratic values have become routine occurrences. Along with this, the insensitivity of the West Bengal government and Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has crossed all limits. While large parts of North Bengal are suffering from devastating floods, videos in the media show the Chief Minister dancing at a celebration in Kolkata, presenting a deeply distressing and painful contrast.
Dr. Trivedi stated that even earlier, during Durga Puja, 12 people had died due to electric shocks, yet the state government remained unmoved and continued participating in celebrations as usual. At present, North Bengal is witnessing tragic conditions, with reports of 28 deaths and thousands rendered homeless due to floods. On one hand, all BJP leaders, MPs, and MLAs are wholeheartedly engaged in relief efforts to help the flood victims, and Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji is personally reviewing the relief operations with full sensitivity and vigilance. On the other hand, the leader of the Trinamool Congress is not only seen dancing in videos, an act that reflects insensitivity but there have also been brutal and violent attacks on BJP leaders involved in relief work, which is both deeply saddening and extremely alarming.
Dr. Sudhanshu Trivedi stated that the brutal attack on BJP State President and MP Shri Samik Bhattacharya, MLA Shri Shankar Ghosh, and two-time MP from the tribal community Shri Khagen Murmu is horrifying. Their blood-soaked faces, as seen in the visuals, would move anyone with a heart; only someone utterly stone-hearted could remain unaffected. If even MPs and MLAs are not safe under its rule and such murderous assaults take place, then the silence of the state government and all leaders of the INDI alliance is a deafening silence for democracy. Dr. Trivedi further expressed deep sorrow over the attack on senior leader Shri Khagen Murmu, who belongs to the tribal community and was engaged in relief work, stating that this not only reflects contempt for democracy and elected representatives but also exposes the deep disrespect and disregard the West Bengal government holds for the tribal community.
Dr. Trivedi added that such incidents are not happening for the first time and one must recall the incident in Sandeshkhali, where the majority of the women who suffered atrocities belonged to the tribal community, and yet, how shamelessly efforts were made to protect the accused. Referring to a recently surfaced video, he questioned that in a tribal community event, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee was seen wearing gloves while dancing. He asked why she was wearing gloves while dancing with the tribal women. Was there a sense of disdain or prejudice in her mind toward them that made her do so? Such visuals, he said, are available in the public domain and raise serious questions about her attitude and insensitivity. Prior to this, when Smt. Draupadi Murmu was a candidate for the President of India, the question arises: at a time when, for the first time, a woman from a tribal community was going to become India’s first citizen, why did the Trinamool Congress decide to field a candidate against her, even knowing that defeat was certain? As Yashwant Sinha was the Trinamool Congress candidate. Today, a senior leader of their tribal community and a two-time Member of Parliament, Shri Khagen Murmu, suffered a murderous and violent attack from Trinamool Congress members despite having security.
Dr. Trivedi stated that this demonstrates that the governance in West Bengal has become both shameless and ruthless. As the English saying goes, “The Rome was burning and the Nero was singing”, but in this situation, “Bengal is drowning while Mamata is dancing.” Photographs of both incidents are available, and this is heart-wrenching for every Indian and every Bengali. The violence seen in Bengal today does not reflect the Bengal of Sri Aurobindo, of Ramakrishna Paramahamsa, of Swami Vivekananda, or of Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore. Rather, it reflects the Bengal of Shaheed Hussain Shohara Wardi.
Dr. Sudhanshu Trivedi stated that, given the current circumstances, first and foremost, the Bharatiya Janata Party wishes to express its solidarity with all those who are enduring the devastation of the floods, along with all BJP workers engaged in relief efforts and the flood victims themselves. Bharatiya Janata Party condemns the promotion and instigation of violence against those involved in relief work and expressed the party’s strong disapproval. The enlightened people of Bengal are observing all these conspiracies and misdeeds and will give an appropriate and proper response in the upcoming elections. BJP workers and leaders will remain undeterred by Mamata Banerjee’s acts of tyranny, injustice, or violence. Bharatiya Janata Party is moving forward with the determination that“Vah path kya pathik kushalta kya jo path mein bikhre shool na ho? Navik ki dhairya pareeksha kya jo dharayein pratikool na ho?”
Dr. Sudhanshu Trivedi said that in West Bengal today, the Trinamool Congress government is promoting violence, supporting disruptive elements, and providing shelter to various extremist and anti-national forces, an insult to Bengal’s bhadralok culture. The people of West Bengal will deliver a decisive response to this in the upcoming elections. Mamata Banerjee has realized that her defeat is inevitable, which is why her workers, in anger and desperation, are committing acts of violence, displaying both frustration and panic.
