In the presence of Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee president Shri Devender Yadav, Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister Shri D.K. Shivkumar today launched the Rs 2500 per month ‘Pyari Didi Yojna’ for the mothers and sisters of Delhi, which was the first of Congress’ guarantees ahead of the Delhi Assembly elections, at a press conference at the DPCC office, Rajiv Bhawan, here today. He said that the Rs 2500 per month will help and empower women of Delhi, who have been devastated by the corruption and mal-administration by the Aam Aadmi Party Government over the past 11 years. Shri Devender Yadav said that to fulfill the demands of Delhiites, Congress should come to power. “Hogi Har Jarurat Puri—Congress Hai Jaroori” is the party’s tagline.

Karnataka fulfilled all its promises—Delhi needs a Congress government—D.K. Shivkumar
Shri Shivkumar said that as had been done in Karnataka, Congress will pass the Rs 2500 guarantee to the women of Delhi in its first Cabinet meeting after coming to power to directly transfer the money to the bank accounts of the beneficiaries.Shri Shivakumar said that within three months after forming the government in Karnataka, Congress started fulfilling all its 5 guarantees by approving them in the first Cabinet meeting. “Our government in Karnataka is giving Rs 2,000 to women per month under the Gruhalakshmi scheme. Similarly, we will implement it immediately after Congress forms the government in Delhi by transferring Rs 2,500 directly into the accounts of women every month”.Shri Shivkumar, who is also the president of the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee, said that the Congress’ guarantees of the Gruhalakshmi Scheme, Gruhajyothi, Anna Bhagya, Shakthi, and Yuva Nidhi have economically empowered the poor and middle-class people. He said that these financial and other incentives have brought positive changes in the lives of the people in the state. He said that the Gruhalakshmi scheme of Rs 2000 per month benefits 1.22 crore women, and Rs 35,109 crore have been released so far to directly transfer the funds into the accounts of the beneficiaries; the Gruhajuothi scheme of 200 units of free power has benefited 1.62 crore families, and Rs 11,810 crore have been released for it till now. 10 kg of free rice under the Anna Bhagya has benefited 4.08 crore people, and Rs 9,104 crore have been released for it till now; under the Shakthi scheme of free bus travel, 359 crore free trips have been availed till now for which Rs 8,688 crore have been released, and under the Yuva Nidhi scheme of Rs 3000 per month to unemployed youth, 1,89,692 have enrolled with Rs 216.39 crore having been released so far. He said that the state government has so far released Rs 56,000 crores for these five guarantees after making budgetary provisions. He said that families save about Rs 4000-5000 from the guarantee schemes every month, and Karnataka has achieved economic progress due to the schemes. “Karnataka’s GDP is much better than the national average,” Shri Shivkumar added. He said that the BJP was copying the guarantee schemes of the Congress.
Rs 2500 per month will fulfill the needs of women—Devender Yadav
Shri Devender Yadav said that the Congress guarantee will not only empower the women and help them tackle price rise but also help them in the education of their children. He said that Kejriwal has been selling false dreams to the people without fulfilling them, as the city has only deteriorated on every front in the past 11 years, whether it was education, power, water, health, etc. Shri Devender Yadav said that Congress has fulfilled its poll guarantees wherever it was in government, like Karnataka, Telangana, and Himachal Pradesh, and before that, Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan, as the party does not mislead the people with false promises like the Aam Aadmi Party and the BJP.
Congress will fulfill women’s empowerment—Qazi Nizamuddin slammed the BJP for making loud promises like Rs 15 lakh in the account of every account holder and crores of jobs for the unemployed, but none of these promises were fulfilled. He said that Congress has a history of fulfilling its promises, and for the empowerment of women in Delhi, it was necessary for Congress to come back to power.
