Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee president Shri Devender Yadav, reacting to Kejriwal’s statement on alliance for the Delhi Assembly elections, said that Congress has a democratic process in taking decisions, which are done after careful deliberations, and not in a totalitarian and dictatorial manner, as Kejriwal does. He said that Delhi Congress was very clear that it will not have any alliance or understanding with any other party but will contest the Delhi Assembly elections alone, in all the  70 seats.

Shri Devender Yadav said that Congress knew when it forged an alliance with the Aam Aadmi Party for the Lok Sabha elections that it would have to contend with people’s opposition, and that’s what had happened eventually. He said that had Congress contested the Lok Sabha elections alone, considering the immense influence Shri Rahul Gandhi wielded among the voters, and people’s support for the Congress, Congress would have been the gainer. He said that the Congress candidates suffered setbacks only due to its alliance with the AAP.

Shri Devender Yadav said that Delhi Nyay Yatra has been receiving overwhelming support from the people for the past 24 days, which gave a clear indication of the popular mood, which was in favour of the Congress party, as people want Congress back in power in Delhi, to save them from their present misery. He said that the failures of the AAP Government have affected the life of the people in various ways, and the angry and disillusioned people were taking out their ire at Kejriwal when he tries to mingle with them, which was a reality check for him. He said that if corruption threw Kejriwal out of  his “Sheesh Mahal” at 6 Flag Staff Road, Civil Lines, people would throw him out of Government, come February 2025, as they no longer believe in his “revadi” promises.
