DPCC president Shri Devender Yadav distributed masks to the Yatris and public

Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee president Shri Devender Yadav said that despite enforcing GRAP IV(Graded Response Action Plan), the Air Quality Index rose to “severe plus” in the Capital, creating a medical emergency kind of situation in the city. He said that with the closure of schools, and change in office timings, the AAP Government has admitted that pollution control was beyond its competence, as the Capital was enveloped in a thick, dark fog causing severe breathing problems for people even sitting in their homes. He said that Enfironment Minister Gopal Rai, CM Atishi and Kejriwal, after they ran short of excuses, were keeping mum on the city weather, as they seemed to be still under the shock of senior minister Kailash Gahlot’s exiting AAP, to swim to safety from the sinking ship.

Shri Devender Yadav, who advised the participants of the Delhi Nyay Yatra to wear masks to protect their lungs and heart from the toxic air and distributed masks to people, said that though stubble burning in AAP-ruled Punjab has gone up by 30 per cent, Kejriwal, who used to blame Punjab for Delhi’s pollution, was now keeping quiet.

Shri Devender Yadav said that Kejriwal should feel ashamed that every year, schools are forced to shut during winter due to severe air  pollution, which  has been a recurring feature for the past 10 years, yet the AAP Government has taken any step to find a lasting solution to the problem.

Shri Devender Yadav said that in the past, Kejriwal would lie to people with gimmicks like the ‘discovery’ of a new solution by his Government for decomposing stubble, instead of burning it, creation a white elephant smog tower in Connaught Place and the deployment of smong guns to settle the dust on the roads, but all these measures have turned out to be steps to indulge in corruption and squander the tax payers’ money, but not in finding a permanent solution for the air pollution in the Capital. He said that due to irresponsible actions and incompetence of Kejriwal, Atishi etc, the health of the citizens of Delhi has been put at grave risk.
